I had to fire Chris as my legal representation in October, 2023. I initially hired him due to his empathetic approach and communication. It was a bait and switch and I strongly recommend seeking counsel elsewhere. For example, even after clarifying expectations about communication with his paralegal (she said she usually responds in 24 hours), I consistently had to follow up several times for a response, using both email and text. Additionally, I reached out to Chris directly requesting a meeting and being clear about my concerns on a lack of communication and movement with my case, and he never replied. To be clear, I emailed him twice and called and left a voicemail asking directly for him to get back to me...and he never did. I expressed several times to his paralegal that I felt I was project managing my own divorce process and was incredibly disappointed, with no change in behavior. After having to follow up on emails/texts, doing my own research on the divorce process because they weren't forthcoming with educating me, and wasting thousands of dollars with no solidified strategy or prep for my mediation, I fired him and got amazing counsel elsewhere. Please be diligent - divorce is one of the most stressful things in your life and you don't need a lawyer adding to that stress.

My call to Basler law was one of the most important calls in my life. After 10 min of speaking with Chris I knew I could trust him to take care of my kids. He was so different from any other lawyer I had worked with in the past. He never rushed me or tried to talk down to me. And he knew his stuff! Chris and his paralegal, Lydia, were a fantastic and knowledgeable team, and the two of them always made me feel calm and guided amidst extreme choas. I hired Chris to represent me in a contentious divorce against an hostile opposing counsel. He spent 7k in 2 months alleging he was cleaning my previous attorney's mess, but I never got evidence of what had to be cleaned. Chris decided to withdraw from my case following the advice of his "accountant" who decided as my case might be expensive and I may not be able to pay him 20k in advance it was better for him to withdraw now, he couldn't wait until trial in September. Chris explained to me his attention to my case would rob him of the time he needed to invest in potential new clients and existent ones, the distraction of my case could be catastrophic for his firm.

Chris left me without representation 3 days before my deposition, facing an hostile opposing counsel, 2 Motions to Contempt for documentation that Chris didn't deal with and Motions for Sanctions for having my attorney failing to attend depositions. I never got communication between attorneys, including a crucial letter from opposing counsel prior to Chris' withdrawal that warranted their filing of the Motion to Compel. I learned of the existence of these emails/letters from opposing counsel and documentation in filings to the Court.

I found Chris' work sloppy, uncaring, motivated by money. He was always late to respond to my emails, even weeks. Today he still ignores my emails after the mess he created for me.

I was left having to hire a 3rd attorney to clean this real mess that will cost me thousands of dollars in a new attorney to catch up all what has happened since the Divorce was filed and in Sanctions at distribution of assets in my divorce.

I would no recommend Chris' services. I'm in a bigger mess than when I hired him and thousands of dollars short. Sadly reviews are not everything. I wished I could turn time back.

Hired Donny McClellan to help with allocation of parental rights and the entire process was straightforward and stress free. I could not have naviagted it by myself. Him and his paralegal were great at communicating and never missed a beat! He stayed on track with reminders for filling deadlines and court dates. A service was paid for and the work got done very well, thank you!

An update today I found out Chris Basler's Motion to withdraw was granted July 21st. Neither him or his paralegal Lydia Chubb emailed me that order. Chris literally abandoned my case July 1st without an order granted from the Court, this resulting on me being in Contempt to Court and Sanctioned for him not submitting the documents requested in opposing counsel letter 6/29 (I never got that letter from either of them). Motion to Contempt was filed July 21st 4pm. I will be sanctioned for Chris not appearing twice at my depositions, I will lose money from distribution of assets because of him. I would understand if I didn't have money in my account at time of his withdrawal, he could be this sloppy and just quit the case, but I had no balance due and still 2k balance.

Please do yourself a favor and do not hire Chris Basler services as an attorney, look somewhere else.

The lawyer dropped the ball on this one. Thru my child custody case, the mother of my child kept my kid away from me for months at a time without notice of any kind. . I was granted split custody tho everything on paper demonstrated the ability of the other party to be a parent. After many many times of trying to explain to the lawyer my concerns, they and the judges failed. My daughter was was exposed to other drugs including fentyl. 4yrs later , I have Colorado Child Protective Services involved and in June 24th 2023, I will have all parental rights to my daughter. So don't send me another bill!!!
