I was a victim of a DV and the way that the office for and especially deputy DA Steven Barnet handled my case was unacceptable! First off, he didn't listen to me or my concerns because he "didn't have to" speak to me about the case and tried to make it my fault that I "didn't show up" via webex when his office gave me the number and access code so I was sitting on hold for over an hour and a half waiting to address the court. Second, when we spoke after the hearing, he spinned the conversation to issues I never even brought up as if I wanted some outrageous charge. He truly does not care nor does he hold any accountability for his office dropping the ball for me to speak to the judge. It is people in office like him that is wrong with the justice system! They only care about their trial numbers and getting that promotion to higher office rather than the victim of the cases. Sad excuse for a DA but a typical attorney.

I am interested to see how things are going to be handled?
I'm hopeful that The Police Accountability Act
CRS constitution can help to tame attitudes of both government and civilians by each being accountable Under The True Colors of law.
We all need to work together as community & strengthen the relationship with Officers provide "Ways" for accountability to those who act in bad faith. And reward good faith policies with respect and honor.

“Restoring trust requires transparency, constant engagement, and implementation of effective systems while prioritizing being accessible to the community including law enforcement, victims, community groups, and defense attorneys,” Kelly said in a statement. So much for your statement of transparency, constant engagement…(with) victims, Madame District Attorney!

They try to railroad people, allow the police to put chargers on people and the DA like turner! Will always found a way to make it stick, the whole entire office, force, court system is dirty. Something needs to be done
