I hired a lawyer from Perkins Law Firm expecting to either be awarded the house through litigation/mediation or, at worst, sell it and receive my rightful 50%. My ex and I were dual military, but he wasn’t consistently paying his share of the mortgage, and I needed to cut ties. Instead, this lawyer’s advice left me in a worse financial position than when I started.

I was advised to sign the home over without legally binding protections, which completely stripped me of any leverage. Now, my ex is behind on payments, hasn’t paid the HOA, the home won’t sell, and the mortgage remains in my name. This has left me unable to use my VA loan again, put my credit at risk, and jeopardized my military benefits.

I paid over $8,000 in legal fees, only to end up trapped in a financial mess that could have been avoided. At this point, I could have just given my ex the home for free and saved myself thousands. It honestly felt like the lawyer was working in his best interest, not mine.

If you’re a service member dealing with property disputes, proceed with extreme caution. I would not recommend Perkins Law Firm to anyone in the military.

Mr. Perkins and his team has been exceptional with handling my traffic violation from start to finish.
When I first talked to Mr. Perkins about my current situation and questions about the traffic laws he was extremely patient to answer ALL my questions. Most of all, he was sincere and transparent!
I had called other lawyers that didn't call me back or charged me an absurd amount for representation, but Mr. Perkins was the only one that took the time to hear me out and truly treated me like a human being and not just a $.
Communication was excellent with Mr. Perkins and his team and truly appreciate the straight forward clarification of what was needed to get this traffic violation completed as soon as possible.
I wish Mr. Perkins and his team the best and do recommend him to others in the Colorado Springs area who may find themselves in a similar situation.

My experience with Mr. Perkins was for a traffic violation. Simple enough but still scary for me. Bryson was very, very polite, communicated with me every step of the way. He answered my emails quickly and and to the point. I didn't have to worry about trying to interpret anything. At any time if i was worried he put me at ease. Such an amazing lawyer with a big heart and won’t take advantage of your situation. His paralegal gave me a quote via phone and an appointment the same day i called. I dont just give out 5 stars, but Perkins Law deserves each one.
This was the most difficult experience of my life and through it all, Bryson and Hallie where there by my side. I know I was far from their only client, but somehow they made me feel as if I was.
I wouldn't wish divorce on anyone, but if you do need representation, this is the firm to call. Especially for those dads out there fighting for custody!
