They failed to pay off an account timely from the proceeds of our loan closing. Because it became difficult to deal with the account that needed to be closed, they gave up. A refund was owed to us. They stopped responding to our messages because it was not their money so they did not care. Even though I informed them that the payoff amount was wrong from the beginning, we were told that whatever was overpaid would be refunded to us. Once it was all said and done, they did not care. Would not recommend due to lack of follow through.

We recently bought a house and the seller chose Homestead as the title company. Our experience was pretty bad with them.

They told us that we could close remotely. When they sent us the documents to sign the day before closing, they had the wrong address on them. It took them hours to fix it which delayed our ability to sign. They then had the nerve to ask us if we wired the money before they fixed the documents.

When I talked to the manager about it, he was incredibly defensive and unwilling to do anything to fix the situation.

Mistakes happen, but you should proofread your own documents instead of relying on your customer to do that for you. Additionally, you should own up to your mistakes and try to make it right instead of being defensive.

If I ever need a title company, I would never use them.

Horrible experience with this company at the westminster location. What was supposed to be the exciting experience of closing and selling my 1st house. Literally had over a $50k mistake that I had to eat because of there mistake and careless. No fallow up from any of the uppers in command. Just responds form the little guys saying sorry for my mistake. Super unprofessional on the way they respond. Hope for all to find services elsewhere!
