I highly recommend Attorney Laurel Mangan as an attorney specializing in elder law, estates and trusts. My elderly parents engaged Attorney Mangan to fine tune their wills, trusts and estate documents when they were in their early eighties. She worked with them up until the times of their deaths, and with me upon their death and all during administration of estate and trust proceeds to beneficiaries. Attorney Mangan was extremely knowledgeable about all nuances of the law and highly skilled in navigating difficult situations. She remained very clear that her first responsibility was to my parents and to assurance that their intentions as documented in wills and trusts were carried out to the letter of the law. In the case of my parents, their intentions, wills, trusts and estates were perfectly clear and consistent that beneficiaries would be treated equally in all respects. As executor and fiduciary of the trust, my actions were consistent with their intentions in all respects.

Unfortunately, as many adult children of elderly parents know, the prospect of a monetary distribution brings out the very worst behavior in some individuals. Suspicion, aggression, dishonesty, attempts at coercion, character assassination and the like, and the potential for manipulation of the elderly is great, especially those who are frail and not as assertive as they may have been in earlier times.
