Good luck getting any help. I've been denied assistance roughly 5 times. All situations they claim to help represent people for. And because of their denial to help I'm now being constantly harassed by a financial terrorist.

I was given their number to contact them regarding a legal matter that another firm didn’t want to take. So I called, spoke briefly to a receptionist with a bad attitude who then transferred me into a phone queue without saying a word, and then I sat on hold for 33 minutes until a recorded message told me to leave a voicemail. I did not. This is the “Ethical Resolution” for attorneys and firms that just don’t want to do their jobs, and the crazy thing is I have the money to pay them upfront! I have no idea how I ended up wasting 33 minutes of my day here, but I’m sympathetic to anyone who has to resort to this place for their legal aid. What a joke!

They never answer the phone. I have called 5 different times. Long wait times (20-30mins) just to get hung up on. Went to the actual office to be found with a sign on the door saying “no walk ins available”. Rang the doorbell at the office, some lady answered saying to call the phone number. What a joke. Non profit that doesn’t seem to be efficient in the community. Will continue to put in a complaint as some auditing needs to be done here.

I was able to easily get a hold of them in the summertime but just three months later I'm unable to get a hold of anyone.

I've called them multiple times in the past and they've always managed to tell me im not eligible for help. I've been physically and verbally assaulted at numerous jobs in Nebraska and this agency constantly finds ways to tell me I'm not getting help. Why exist just to tell ppl you can't help them. That's the issue with our "justice" system, too much red tape for actual assistance.

I legit have court in the morning and I am not prepared. I asked my attorney (MARK BESTUL) to get a continuance and that I couldnt miss work for 90days and he emphatically said no! He said the judge wouldn't approve it as the initial order would be "halfway into the order." Ummm, what the hell does that even mean IF they can be granted from 1 year to 5? Nevermind my abuser (yes, it's DV) was granted a continuance to 1) LEAVE THE COUNTRY. Then, they 2) gave me the wrong address to the courthouse. Then, 3) it was reset for lack of time last week. I asked Mark this last week as getting all the necessary documents, etc would take some time AND I did not want to lose my job. I called and asked what I could do to escalate it for his boss to speak with him and was told I could file a grievance. Yes, a grievance that WOULD take weeks/months to resolve. I have court in the morning, less-than 1 weeks after the last court appearance that was reset by the judge.
This is ridiculous. This is why people handle things their own way as doing it the "right/preferred" way gets you wholly ignored and minimized. I will end up dead and it'll be my fault that I didn't do what exactly? Report, file, comply? He is a joke and this agency is a bigger joke. 😔

The lawyer who drew my short straw was able to sèe me with short notice and review documents related to my threatened eviction. I'm not homeless yet, so I'm a pretty happy camper without having to really be camping.
