Sarah was very helpful in guiding me through a separation/severance agreement after I had been capriciously terminated by a local university after just eight weeks in the job. She professionally and good-naturedly guided me through the realities of "at will" employment, the legalese of the severance agreement, HR's commitment to the corporation and not employees, and the difference between "right" and "legal." I didn't get any more money or additional remedy from the university as a result of Sarah's advice; however, her assistance did allow me to move on and begin to put the experience with the university in my proverbial rear-view mirror.
