I'm not sure where all the praise comes from for Eric Sanders, but I recently dealt with him and genuinely regret contacting him. He was insulting, nasty, and hostile. He did not sound like a lawyer who understood or even remotely cared about the plight of tenets suffering at the hands of improper landlords. Instead, in my opinion, there was a lot of favoritism on the landlord's side. From the beginning of the call, he was unfriendly and showed zero to no compassion for my situation. He began to raise his voice with me to the point where I had to disconnect the call. I wholeheartedly advise you not to waste your time with him.

I am a former member of the Hempstead Police Dept and needed a competent attorney to represent me in a civil rights case. Eric Sanders was recommended to me and I could not have been more pleased.
Eric is an excellent lawyer whose main focus is on his clients. He is determined and unrelenting in achieving his stated goal; justice for his client. The Sanders Firm advertises detemination, accountability, transparency. Our experience with this firm proved otherwise. There was a lack of transparency when we retained Mr Sanders. After my wife was retaliated at work for reporting miscoduct. We were advice by the union attorneys that we had a retaliation case against the NYPD. And to look for an attorney that dealt with such cases. After a search we came across The Sanders Firm. And after meeting with Mr Sanders he confirmed we had a case and so we retained him for a case of retaliation against the NYPD. Shortly after, he contacted my wife and mentioned he had another case, class action civil suit against the NYPD. Explained to her the nature of the case, it was a lactation case where the NYPD had violated nursing mothers right to express milk. So he explained she fit into the group since she had given birth to our children while employed. And further explained that it would run with the original case. Things took a turn, the whole focus became the lactation case. When my wife would mention or inquire as to the status of the retaliation case he would inform her that he was building it and it was coming alone. He would mention that there was time to file. On several occassions we mentioned our concern on the statue of limitations running out since time was running and she had not received any notice of the filing and we got the same response, there was time. Well, approximately 3 years after we retained him for the retaliation case, he annoced his retirement and notice that he would not continue with the retaliation case and changed his tone about the case. So we immettedly seeked the advice of another attorney which informed us that the statue of limitaciones had run out in order to file a case. Further informed us that Mr Sander delayed the filing for too long. So how is Mr Sanders held accountable for his actions? For years having us waiting with hopes of seeking justice thru the court system for the unfair treatment my wife suffered at the hands of the NYPD. Only to be miss informed for years by Mr Sanders. So where was the transparency? For years he lead her to believe that she would have her day in court for the retaliation at work. Only to jump her on another unrelated case, exhaust all the retainer fee and drop her retaliation case after the statue of limitations ran out. This is not how the legal system is suppose to work!! Mr Sanders you speak about seeking justice for others but you became a part of the unjusitice that was committed against my wife! Goodthing he is retiring otherwise I would advice anyone seeking the services of Mr Sanders to think twice!! His rude at times and speaks with a condisending tone.
I believe true honesty and humility is respected and from my experience with Mr Sanders he lacks both!
