2022 - My child who was hospitalized in 2015 by a chemical attack by a confirmed predator who is now dead. I myself was also a victim of violent attack with an edged weapon by a perpetrator using chemicals. My forehead and face have long track weapons scars on them from being cut in my sleep. I was a male sexual assault victim and DV victim with a female aggressor who hurt me. I applied multiple times for legal aid with this location and one in Houston and was denied despite being a special victim and guardian of a special victim minor. I can only describe their denial as a heinous furtherance of the injustices done against my family. It is a well-known fact that in cases involving the use of chemicals and substances against victims of crime, all the details may not readily be available of what had transpired because of retrograde/anterograde amnesia. My children and I subsequently lost our home after being victims of two burglaries and wrongful foreclosure, then long-term criminal retaliation for seeking law enforcement assistance. We were not afforded special victim advocacy, protection, or legal assistance from Lone Star Legal Aid because of gender and racial bias. The attorney we eventually spoke to after the office waited out the statute of limitations on our case was a rude p.o.s their Houston Office referred to us and did not help. My credit was ruined, and we were displaced from our home permanently fearing violence or death if we returned. That house foreclosed and went to auction in the winter. We experienced swatting and retaliatory reporting for five years in which we were not provided legal advocacy. Very significant protective measures had to be taken because of the corruption of local offices in Fort Bend County and surrounding counties in allowing these crimes which occurred to not only go unpunished but also failing to render aid to those affected by those crimes upon repeat request. I had to adopt a position of high-level force deterrence to keep myself and my family safe. Do not rely on Lone Star Legal Aid in Texas. Neither you nor your children will be assisted as victims of crime. They do not care about the details of your specific case, nor do they care to hear them. There are no words of condemnation sufficient to do justice to what has been allowed to take place against my family or the denials of service by these offices. I believe the day will come that you will see a return for this. I will be there when you fall. There are changes coming in this country for institutions that fail the most vulnerable. I look forward to seeing those places close their doors, be torn down, and replaced with an agency that is honorable once again, providing victims representation where it should have been absolutely guaranteed. To deny a child legal aid after they come forward about special victim violence they endured from a special offender is evil beyond words. I hope justice is done upon you. I shook the dust off my shoes as I departed.
Update: 2025 - Eight years on, I never got help from anyone. I had to help myself. I incurred additional expenses as a traveler seeking safe harbor from police who would cite me, search me without probable cause, and harass me, though I had done nothing wrong. I needed a PRO against certain interests because they were being used through false reporting to retaliate against us for coming forward. Lone Star Legal Aid is sexist and racist. They only help women and people of color, to the best of my knowledge. I spent a year homeless living in my car and three years in hotels before WORKING 60 hours a week to overcome debt and improve credit. You must help yourself. Do not rely on these offices or any LSLA office in Texas. They operate under gender, sex, and racial biases. I prevailed, but at the cost of my home and all investments and most assets. I fixed my circumstances WITHOUT YOU!
