Our river rafting experience was great and exhausting. So, it was extremely appreciated that Marble Mountain Ranch is very well maintained, accommodations were excellent, and the views are unbeatable.
Well maintained: Grass was mowed, the horses well fed, cabins with fast hot water and high water pressure, and landscaping is top notch.
Accommodations: i enjoyed the interior design of the cabins with nice cowboy, horses, chicken art work. The restrooms are very spacious with plenty of towels. Fully stocked kitchen. Comfortable den with an electric heater.
Views: all around the cabins are horses. They have so many of them and yet i didn't smell horse manure. Past the horses is the view of the valley next to the mountain and the river down below. There are 4 dogs that greet you when you drive up. They roam between cabins porches hoping for food handout. They'll lay on your porch as guard dogs.

There are not enough superlatives to describe what an amazing place Marble Mountain Ranch is, nor how lovely the family and staff are. Once I found the location from the website and calculated the cost of everything, including travel from the UK and then internally in the US, it was a pretty packet but it was SO worth it as there were no extras to worry about at all. All the activities, riding, shooting and rafting are done with superb professionalism and despite the riding and rafting having some degree of risk, we were all safe at all times. As a horse rider myself the riding was tame but watching my family riding every day and enjoying themselves more than made up for it. They were also the only ranch I came across where riding hats were compulsory - this was a BIG tick in my box. We all learnt so much about guns from Doug and had a literal blast at the range. The rafting was really fun (even for those like myself, who are not fans of water) and the hike to the waterfall was almost as exciting in places. My children (17 and 18) loved the independence of travelling by kayak down pretty much most of the river sections - apart from one or two more challenging sections when they got in the raft. The food was delicious, we loved the wood branding and smores towards the end of the week too, and of course Doug's stories. I don't think there was once aspect of the place I would change. Doug and Heidi really are the hosts with the most, and although everything is super slick, it never feels like they are going through the motions. Do not hesitate!

My teenage kids and I spent a week at Marble Mountain Ranch and we are still glowing with happiness, reminiscing all of the incredible experiences we enjoyed. Doug, Heidi, Adam and Peter are quality people, experts in their crafts and excellent instructors/guides. We built confidence on horses, river rafting/kayaking, and using firearms. I especially liked the lesson and historical rifle from the Revolutionary War led by Doug. We all got so comfortable riding horses with Adam, and he and his wife's jewelry and ceramics are beautiful. Peter was our river guide .... I cannot believe how he taught my kids to raft and kayak through some pretty technical rapids. He was amazing with them, and the hike to the waterfall was difficult, but the breathtaking view made it worth the work. Heidi filled our bellies all week with home grown, homemade meals that I hope to get close to replicating! I loved getting to know the family. If you want to spend quality time with your family and get to know other like-minded families looking for the same, Marble Mountain Ranch is it!

The best part of our trip through California. Doug and Heidi were very welcoming and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable and amazing. We had a busy week with different activities every day. We learned about horseback riding, rafting and use and safety of firearms, all in controlled environment with very knowledgeable people. Adam was our riding instructor in the arena and made sure to help us based on our individual abilities. Doug and Jeff were our shooting range instructors and made sure we were safe and able to enjoy this activity. Peter and Jeff were wonderful on the river. The accommodations were clean and comfortable with plenty of room for 3 people. Meals were all homemade by Chef Heidi. If you are looking for an active vacation for the whole family in a beautiful, remote area, Marble Mountain Ranch is the place to go.
We will never forget this vacation. It was worth every penny.

If you are considering a family vacation and are lucky enough to have stumbled upon Marble Mountain Ranch, just do yourself a favor and stop here and book it! We were initially unsure when considering a dude ranch/rafting vacation, if the experience would live up to the cost. All four of us (parents early 40’s and kids early teens) were blown away by the vacation experience. Absolutely delivered on value, and exceeded our expectations. It should be noted that any experience level can come out and enjoy these outdoor activities… my wife for example had never rafted, never been on a horse, never shot a gun, and she had a lot of fun and really enjoyed herself. ||A beautiful remote setting, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday city life, where you park your car and let it collect dust for the entire week, everything else is taken care of. A family owned/operated ranch, where you can stay busy with fun activities all day long, or just relax in the mountains if that is more your speed. We wanted to be going all day everyday… rafting the rapids, horseback trail riding/lessons, waterfall hiking, target and trap shooting, archery and ax throwing, fly fishing, zip line, and making new friends. Immersing ourselves in Marble Mountain Ranch and eating up the many stories Doug & Heidi shared of their life/rafting/ranch journey. Speaking of eating, all the meals are prepared for you fresh on site, and both Heidi and Doug are excellent cooks. We were thankful to have picked up Heidi’s cookbook and have re-lived several amazing meals since arriving back home after our trip. Those tastes will take us back to Marble Mountain Ranch each time we whip up another dish.||Lodging was nice, with a cozy cabin in the middle of the property. Plenty of beds in two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen with fridge/stove/sink, breakfast table inside and front porch table outside. After all the fun outdoors, we slept well each night. For those needing to keep a finger on the work pulse, WiFi was available at the main building, and I was able to take care of calls/check email without any issues all week.||If we could rate this 10-stars, I would. Hopeful that more folks find this review and make the decision to head out to Marble Mountain Ranch.

We rarely write reviews, but once in a great while you find a place that is ever so much more so. That would be Marble Mountain Ranch. We took our four grandkids – ages 9,6,5 and 4 – for an electronics free week in August. The experiences for our city grandkids were non-ending: riding lessons, trail rides, rafting, swimming in the pool, swimming in the river, skipping stones, jumping the zip line, painting targets, branding personal signs, playing games, creating stepping stones, shooting targets, firing arrows, tossing tomahawks, listening to ghost stories (age appropriate) at the campfire, making s’mores, feeding animals, riding ATV’s, riding in a pick-up, feeding the animals, caring for the horses, learning about the outdoors, playing tetherball and ping pong, walking a tight rope, and enjoying Doug’s endless store of information. We saw elk, bears, jumping fish, ospreys, herons, egrets and more while rafting. The list goes on and on and it all takes place on-site, except for the time on the river. The kids wore their boots and cowboy hats all week, with jeans, shorts and bathing suits. They slept like rocks. We were there after school started in many places, so we unexpectedly had Doug and Heidi mostly to ourselves. The two of them, their sons Adam and Peter, and wrangler Marcelline took incredible care of us. They all are just good people and great company. On top of that, the daily three meals, without exception, were consistently and unbelievably good. (When you go be sure to pick up a copy of Heidi’s cookbook.) The experience for us was over the top and the kids loved every single waking moment. We did, too. This was a very special one.

Awesome Western get away! This family-owned ranch provided us with a vacation we will cherish & shall never forget. Each day brought new experiences- no two days were repeats. Whether by horseback, river raft, on foot, or ATVs, the scenery was stunning. There were plenty of planned activities & adventures throughout the day and into the evening keeping kids, parents, and grandparents constantly engaged. |The home cooked meals were absolutely delicious! Again, the menu changes daily. ||If you are looking for a family friendly Western experience- this is the ranch for you!

My husband and I had not taken a vacation in five years, and our experience at Marble Mountain Ranch has set the bar so very high for our next one! Being on a ranch was on my husband’s bucket list so for his 65th birthday I booked a week so he could get his “dude ranch on.” ||Dinner on our first night was the prelude to the absolutely delicious meals we would share that week! They were hearty, varied, healthy and so very scrumptious that I bought Heidi’s cookbook before we left! I was continually amazed that Heidi could produce three meals and appetizers before dinner-almost all from scratch for 24 people while still taking care of the day to day ranch business.||The activities each day were organized and engaging and individually geared toward your skills level. I thoroughly enjoyed learning how to ride a horse on the beautiful trails around the ranch and in the arena and my husband found that he was a pretty good shot as we explored a variety of guns each day. Doug and Jeff were especially entertaining at the gun range, but I was most impressed with their expertise and patience! Adam’s calmness, encouragement and patience made my introduction to horses positive and rewarding. The kids hired for the summer were super competent, supportive and motivated! We are so grateful!!||The afternoons of rafting were my personal favorite. The Klamath river has a number of runs that were calming to enjoy the scenery and downright exciting! My husband and I rode with Jeff and Doug, and both proved to be excellent, encouraging and congenial guides, and safety was always a priority.||I did not purposely choose Marble Mountain Ranch because of its remoteness in an effort to disconnect from the beeps and dings of the world, but that aspect turned out to be the most inspiring for me. I am a high school teacher who has become increasingly frustrated with the lack of engagement and focus of young people and even adults when electronics are around…. I thoroughly enjoyed the other 22 guests at the ranch as well as Doug and Heidi’s kids and grandkids who were present. The kids were happily involved, played and learned with their parents and grandparents. They engaged with new friends and the adults let them play… and the kids always found something to do! No one was bored or grumpy, no one had a political agenda…. in fact there was an ease of socializing that belayed respect and pleasant curiosity.||I would highly recommend Marble Mountain Ranch for anyone of any age that would like to experience a different lifestyle, disengage from the noise of the world and really engage with their family and friends.
