They genuinely don’t care about people. Angel was the only person willing to help. In the middle of a case and they ghosted me. No one returns calls, don’t waste your time. Cole and Alexandria were supposed to call me back months ago, still fighting unfit housing that they don’t care about. They have lawyers that don’t care about your case, they do the bare minimum and throw you to the side. Do not trust these people.

I had been going through the intake process over the past month and a half or so and they just wrongly closed my entire case and lied saying that they never received any of my supporting documentation. I have sent proof of this being sent and continuously called and have been ghosted.
Extremely unprofessional and not okay for people who are already going through it and desperately looking for help.

i was deeply led on by AVLF and their employees/supervisor. i understand that they may be dealing with a lot but instead of being upfront and communicative they led me and other tenants on concerning our case of eviction and landlord retaliation. i honestly wish they were straightforward with the support they couldn't offered so i could have south it elsewhere or atleast built up the knowledge and capacity to represent me and the other tenants in court. i would def not recommend. they need help with capacity building and also everytime i called the hotline they seemed extra annoyed.

They don’t help much. Just pay for an actual consultation with an attorney elsewhere. All they do is help the lawyers get pro bono hours. They’ll claim to help with creating a plan if they don’t have an attorney for you - they won’t. Once the attorney earned their hours from “listening” to your case, you will never hear from them again. Save yourself the time.

Wow. Is all I have to say about this "foundation" not only did they NOT resolve my (YEAR) long case. They refused to call me to provide any real communication throughout this entire process. Being more than patient, hopeful, understanding, & cooperative with this "foundation" to receive NOTHING in return. Not so much as a call back... There were "college" students sent to my home to gather pictures, a lengthy trail of evidence, plus whatever more they asked for..... & Yet still they could not help me or in their words. "Find a Lawyer to take the case" pitiful.
How is there no one to take the case of a ceiling caving in and nearly killing its residents I don’t know..
But if your case isn’t as severe as that, then I'd say go elsewhere..
You'd be better off receiving help from a local church or a low-cost lawyer.
I wouldn’t recommend working with this "foundation"

I am so thankful for Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation. The idea of fighting for the rights of people who are often looked over and passed by. They did not ignore me or pass by. They stopped and render aide. This is a volunteer organization and often people thinks this means less. I must say this is not a good description of the service and care I received. They got in the trenches and fought very hard for me and my family. I am very pleased with this experience.

Having the privilege to work with Daysha Brown, a remarkable lawyer at the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF), has been an eye-opening experience. Her exceptional care and understanding have not only set her apart but have also made a lasting impact on my legal journey. Furthermore, Andrea Taps, an incredibly responsible paralegal, has proven to be an invaluable asset to the team.

From our very first conversation, it was evident that Daysha's commitment to her clients goes beyond the norm. Her genuine empathy and understanding fostered a safe space for me to discuss my legal concerns openly. Daysha's ability to connect on a personal level while maintaining the highest level of professionalism is a rare and admirable trait.

Daysha's legal acumen is matched only by her ability to break down complex legal concepts into digestible information. Her clear explanations and patient approach empowered me to grasp the nuances of my case and make informed decisions. It's not often that one encounters a lawyer who is not only knowledgeable but also genuinely invested in their client's well-being.

Andrea Taps, the paralegal working alongside Daysha, deserves equal praise for her unwavering responsibility and dedication. Andrea's attention to detail and prompt communication played a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient legal process. Her proactive nature provided me with a sense of confidence and reassurance throughout the journey.

Unprofessional and careless. Im not really into legal stuff and had a situation, so i google search and call them. They didnt answer initially, but did return call only to be rude and none helpful. I hate people who bring personal feelings to work, but your job is to interact with people. I would never recommend this program for anyone, until they hire professionals.
