Rick Gazipura is a very trustworthy, and compassionate attorney. The first time I met him, I was there for my son, who had recently received a DUI on a moped/scooter in Santa Cruz. My son was intimidated with the justice system, and wanted me to meet with him and Rick. Rick thoroughly explained what we were up against. He said that there was a slight chance he might be able to get off, maybe with a wet/reckless, but there was a long road ahead. He gave us very good advice and never pressured us to go with him. He didn't charge us for the consultation even though we took more of his time than he had offered for free. Rick relieved some of my sons anxiety by telling my son that he didn't have to show up for the court hearing, he would take care of it, and could keep working. He also explained of the importance of working with the DMV as well as the court to minimize the length of the loss of his license. It wasn't going to be cheap, but sounded like a better option than going it alone or with a Public Defender. Many of my sons friends told him not to fight it and he would be wasting his money on an attorney. We decided to go with Rick. This was the best decision we could have ever made. Rick followed through with everything he stated and kept us updated throughout the whole process. My son never attended court. With all of the court delays and DMV pressure my son would have lost his license for months on end. Instead Rick kept everything in check. He made sure we never missed an important date. He actually ended up finding some loopholes in the system, and got my sons case dismissed from the court, with only a minor infraction, with no DUI on his record. Then he followed up and was able to get it dismissed from the DMV. My son never lost his license and his insurance never went up. Ricks knowledge of the system, is invaluable.
