She certainly doesn't deserve a single star but I had to give one to give this review. I paid her $10,000 cash $5,000 for a criminal case a $5,000 for the custody case. She refused to show up for a single ISP meeting. She advised me to forget about pursuing my boys who although they're not biologically mine I'm all they've ever known and simply pursue my girls. At one point after undergoing a 6-hour psychological evaluation whereupon the quacks at mypsy didn't like my answers and labeled them invalid (simply because those answers did nothing to support the position of the government who hired these quacks) she advised me to go back and take it again and change some of the answers which of course was used to paint me in a negative light. This is most likely because she's so buddy buddy with the quacks down there in that office who get all of their business from DHR psych evals. When it came time to go to criminal Court I was supposed to walk. The states entire case was a video that they couldn't have got admitted into evidence because they had no authenticating witness. She made a back door deal with the prosecutor and advised me to plead guilty to a misdemeanor when I should have just walked and then had the nerve to be proud of herself and thought I should be grateful to her. When I pointed out to her that I believed she was a little too cozy with the locals and did not serve my best interest above theirs she quit the case. Of course she didn't give me back a single penny of the $5,000 I paid her for the custody case either which is still going on after 3 years. She's the worst attorney I could imagine and you better heed my warning and go hire somebody else unless you want to be sold out by your own lawyer. I'll never get the taste of corruption out of my mouth. I've also been told buy an employee of the state of Alabama who works in Russell county that this is exactly how these things work. It was sin City in the 1950s and it's still sin City today. One of the most corrupt counties in the United States of America. Where even the lawyers that you hire and pay good money will betray you because everybody in Russell county is all on the same side. It's pretty disgusting.

Connie is definitely worth every cent. She doesn’t take any BS and tells the other parties lawyer exactly how it is. She will fight for you and what is right, and seems to put fear into other parties lawyers. She is tough and to the point, loyal, and honest. I’m proud to have her represent me, and I am confident in my case with her!

The first thing she sent me a letter with the wrong address. Second she kept asking for information that was given to her time after time. Third she was either late or would show up just a few minutes before giving you no time ro prepare. She had well over a year to prepare for a custody case. Two weeks before mediation I was given my file by her to go over it. Honestly I paid 800 dollars so she could rekindle her friendship with the mediator. During the mediation she wanted me to settle giving a large amount to my ex. Here is the problem when it came out to working a deal theses words came out of her mouth ( I am not sure about the rules I am going to have investigate that) remember she had a year. The hardest thing she had to do was drive to Opelika. Three thousand dollars later I am forced to start over and get a new lawyer.

Overall, I liked Connie Cooper as a person. But I MUST say that she continually botched my cases. On several of my cases she kept getting everything mixed up and continually wanted more and more money even though there was NOTHING happening.

She was later informed of some legal paperwork that she never served me with nor informed me of. It has COST me seeing my children for three years now. She basically allowed my wife to lie in court over and over and would not help me present my interests or causes in court. That is the MOST important thing in any court case, presenting your case at trial. She would not take the time to go over any preparation even though I prepared all the information and questions for her....EVEN IN ORDER to lead the person to a specific conclusion.

Don't take your chances with her or you may lose everything.
