Before you consider paying this sham, please know they make it as difficult to cancel as possible. They bill annually and bill automatically. They provide very little value. Don’t waste your money. Don’t participate in the shake down. They are loosing relevance in a world where Google reviews has replaced them (which is free). Good luck getting a hold of them to cancel. They make it so you can only cancel with one specific person, whose schedule is unknown, who “will call you back”…..someday…after your billing renewed…for another year….I’m literally still waiting. I wish I could leave a review of the BBB with the BBB…but ironically, you can’t. 😂

After submitting a detailed, well-documented complaint about Amazon's widespread practice of indefinitely withholding seller funds (affecting thousands of small businesses), I was deeply disappointed by BBB's handling of the matter.

For those unfamiliar, BBB is basically Yelp for people who still have AOL email addresses - except when you leave a negative review, they actually remove it instead of just hiding it behind seventeen popups asking you to download their app.

My complaint addressed a systemic business practice - not an individual account dispute. I provided comprehensive information about how Amazon's policies harm small businesses across the country through their fund withholding practices.

When Amazon responded by demanding my specific seller account email (clearly attempting to narrow this to an individual case), I wrote a detailed explanation to BBB about why this wasn't appropriate. I offered alternative verification including documentation of the widespread nature of the issue and redacted examples.

BBB's response? They simply closed my complaint, claiming I "failed to provide necessary clarification" - despite my thorough explanation.

This experience reveals that BBB appears more interested in maintaining relationships with large corporations than advocating for small businesses. They operate like a protection racket with accreditation fees instead of actually holding businesses accountable.

If you're considering using BBB for a complaint against a large corporation, save yourself the time and just post on social media instead. At least there, your complaint won't disappear faster than the "A+" ratings of companies that pay their annual BBB membership fees.

After being contacted about signing up I decided to change my mind about joining and wanted my application withdrawn and money refunded. I’ve emailed multiple times to different people and even tried their chat feature with no response. It was within the 7 days I wrote to withdraw but they won’t respond. Overall not impressed with this organization that preached business ethics and customer happiness but violates their own code. Will be actively not recommending them or their businesses to clients.

The BBB was the only company that refused to suspend my account during Covid. Now that I've downsized my business and have no employees, I feel it's not worth the monthly fee. I've called twice to cancel and they keep sending me to Lisa's voicemail. Day 2 and still no call back. If this is how they handle their clients, how do you think they would handle my business customer concerns?

Got acknowledgement from this bbb on 06/11/24 of complaint I filed. No word from anyone. So on 06/27/24 I emailed them that zero word from anyone in over two weeks. BBB actually stands for Big Business Bureau!

In response to "owner" dates you left out

06/11 8:06 am complaint submitted
06/11 you acknowledged complaint as "accepted & will forward" to business 1:52 pm
06/27 you sent e mail " that you had received your info submitted Thru Our Dispute Resolution Service, assigned a complaint # & sent to business." So, you sent it to an outside service (which you call yours) and this service then sends it back to you?

Wow! A 16 day delay in getting to business from YOUR original STATED submission to business date!

Jul 1, you acknowledge complaint response from business (less than 2 full business days) from 06/27 and give me 5 days to respond!? Yet the company got a 16 day grace / delay period to respond by you sending complaint in a circle and not assigning a complaint number for 16 days after you said it was ACCEPTED and going to business.!?

I responded on July 1 to close complaint with notation " customer dissatisfied."

Today, not until after review posted, July 9th, 8 days after my July 1 request, you acknowledged my request. It is what it is! Company blatantly got delays!

Idaho Pave and Seal was hired by us to pave our driveway. The owner Carl Cardin gave us a bid. His hired hand came and did the work which was unsatisfactory. Mr. Cardin came to look at the original job, and made his hired hand return and fix the job. It’s a mess and the rocks are showing thru. Maybe if Mr. Cardin had done the work it might have better. It’s terrible and won’t last.

Sort of helpful but not, all I spoke to was a bot, there was no live person that came on the phone to answer any questions at all...kind of a letdown, "use the website" or "write a letter"..thanks Captain Obvious

A customer has weaponized the review feature in an attempt to damage our company because they want money back. The review was full of lies intended to damage our reputation. This reviewer attempted to do the same with the insurance company and it was shown that we were in the right. I provided objective proof to BBB and they won't take down the review because "it was that customers experience." With that information in hand, the BBB has become complicit in the defamation. Additionally, it took them almost three months to approve and post my response to that customer. I had to call and threaten to sue them to get it posted.
