Graduated from here almost twenty years ago, but I can say it prepared me very well for a career in the law. It was expensive, but all private law schools are, so in terms of the cost, consider it's on par with others similar to it.

The library is terrific and overall I was impressed with most of my professors and their teaching skills. What this school does really, really well is prepare its students (if they take the Sacuzzo Course) for the California Bar Exam.

The classmates of mine who took the class almost all passed the bar exam, to my knowledge. I knew a few people who decided to go the traditional Barbri path and didn't pass. Heck, I even shared an intership with a guy who had graduated a year before me and still had not passed the bar exam...because he hadn't taken the Sacuzzo Course the school offers. As far I know he never did pass.

One of the worst schools out there in terms of value. Maybe if you are a minority they will throw some scholarship package together. But overall you are attending a regional school at best with very limited employment prospects. Whoever is posting positive reviews on this place probably got a scholarship because of minority status or a somewhat decent LSAT score.

Professors hail from Harvard, Stanford and other great law schools and have clerked in federal courts of appeals just like professors at the top-tier schools, but the atmosphere is more collegial than the Ivys and wanna-be Ivys. The professors have time for their students and aren't exclusively concerned with their own research. CWSL has a low ranking because admittance is easy, but the attrition rate is very high (30-35%) so the graduates are top notch (most if not all of those admitted with poor undergrad grades and LSAT scores are cut). CWSL is a regional school and has very deep and broad alumni networks in San Diego, Los Angeles and Orange County, as well as Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., New York and Reno. The career services office has great relationships with nearly all the firms in San Diego (big or small) and all of the government offices, including the U.S. District Court, U.S. Attorney's Office, San Diego DA's Office and San Diego PD's office.

I enjoyed my time here, and was well-prepared for the bar exam. Parking is a problem, though, so prospective students should be aware.

No matter how much money they throw at you; even if you get into CIP and want to graduate in two years, mark my words: go somewhere — anywhere — else.
