I had an upset client file a lawsuit against my company.
I have never been sued before,
I thought my management team and I were ready for the appearance, but decided to do a quick review of the paperwork a couple of hours before our appearance time in court, just to be sure.
I noticed something I had not seen previously. There was one line on the complaint that said I had to file my response prior to my appearance if I wished to defend myself.
Yikes.
I had that moment where you realize that you are not prepared, and you are out of time.

I called Scott Neckers from Childs McCune at 11:05 AM. Our appearance was set for 1:00 PM the same day, less than two hours later.
Scott sent me the forms I needed via email, explained them to me over the phone, and rearranged his schedule so that he could meet me and my team at the court house one half hour prior to our scheduled appearance.
He stayed throughout a two and a half hour arbitration session and provided excellent incites to me throughout the arbitration.
The session ended very well.

I have worked with a number of attorneys over the years.
That was the kindest and quickest response I have ever experienced.
I have a new attorney for my businesses.
