Choosing Attorney Storm was the best decision I have made while getting custody of my kids. When we are in the court house you can see how much respect all the other lawyers have for him. He has worked incredibly hard for me and always picks up the phone when I give him a call.

Overall rating is merely average, with no lasting impressive litigation or art of deal making skills.
I originally sought Attorney Storm out as he was geographically separated from my social circle (and that of my spouse) and reviews available online indicated he was āaggressiveā and had dealt favorable endings for male clients with children.
Unfortunately, it seemed he had a cynical view of his clients and make no mistake, his legal methodology is to settle cases (instead of pursuing a trial result) with a desire to land in a āzone of reasonablenessā - which will likely not be in the clientās best interest. Only when opposing counsel took aggressive actions and motions did I see some desire and potential skill to litigate. Nonetheless, this was short lived. He also has some uncanny obsession with telling you to change your āway of thinkingā on certain matters including client proposals or requests. He is keen on using a third party for parenting plan consensus instead of going to the court family relations branch or negotiating with opposing counsel himself. While this may (or may not) accelerate things, it comes at a steep price and adds another variable to the separation process.
Prior to the final disposition, I also must note that I did clearly ask to be sent a final copy (understanding it would uncertified) of the agreement and stipulation documents and when all was said and done, I got nothing beyond āYou are divorcedā in an email (with no attachments or follow up).
Pros- he is largely responsive (returns calls and e-mails quick enough but doesnāt always hit every point). He has a very nice office and his paralegal is very polite, professional and responsive. He seems familiar with Hartford Family court personnel and procedures.
Cons- encourages clients to be āflexibleā - but around his own schedule first and foremost of course. His rate at $400/hr is no bargain and he doesnāt have much sympathy for the financial state of his clients. Only when the case was all but finalized, he made a final concession on a pay now discount of sorts. His estimate on an initial retainer will likely only take you 6 months in with no disposition guarantee- and by his own admission, a simple divorce takes closer to a year.

Three of my friends particularly recommended Attorney Storm when I was getting divorced. I donāt know of any Attorneys who get you to write out a short biography when it comes to your marriage but this is a very ingenious thing to do as an attorney. It allows Attorney Storm to see your married life and to piece together areas that he needs to in order to work on your behalf and for your best interest.
Attorney Storm is a very detailed and organized man who keeps thorough records of all communication received from you and from the other side. He copies you on any correspondence and keeps you briefed on what is happening. He would take notes of anything Iād call him on and in person heād be taking notes as well. Iāve had a couple attorneys in the past who didnāt take notes and thought they could remember things only to find out it was forgotten. I could ask him any question when I didnāt understand something and he would give me an answer and if I still didnāt understand, he would try answering it using different wording. He was super attentive and quick to responding to emails as well.
Attorney Storm reviews your file prior to going into any hearings to make sure heās up to date on everything he needs to be. He cuts to the chase and is aggressive to get the results youāre seeking. Heās a practical man and deals with factsāheās not there to be your counselor. If you are going through a divorce, make sure you get yourself a therapist to help you through your emotional side of what youāll need. Attorney Storm would inform you of how things could play out through several different scenarios, and he would always give me honest advice whenever I asked him for it.
From what my own friends observed from watching Attorney Storm at court, this man is highly respected by the judges in the New Britain court system. My divorce was during Covid so I didnāt have the opportunity to be in court, my divorce was handled only online. I felt confident though referring a couple friends to him, since my own experience was so positive.
As for his paralegal secretary Ashley, she was so helpful and had such a sweet personality, out of any secretaryās Iāve encountered. She always had a smile on her face and showed empathy no matter the situation I was dealing with. She would put my mind at ease the minute I walked through the door.
Youāll be in safe hands and expertise if enlisting them for your attorney needs.

I am so impressed on how hard Attorney Storm worked on my behalf.
He did not overlook any part of my personal and finance wellbeing during my divorce. He fought for me even in areas that I wasnāt prepared to deal with. He also kept me informed with everything that was happening along the way. I chose him because I was told he was a bulldog that would fight for me. He way and yet he took time to listen to what I wanted and expected from my divorce.
Thank you.

I hired Chris Storm some years ago. He took advantage of me during the worst time in my life. I hope he is ashamed of who he is not just as a lawyer but as a man.
