I was in need of a Defense Attorney and after several people referred me to Daniel Shaffer & after seeing other attorneys all of who seemed too busy to listen to my situation I went and met with Mr Shaffer for my Free consultation. After the first meeting there was no doubt he was who I wanted to represent me in my case that had turned from a Division of Wildlife hunting offense to 3 criminal charges brought on by a District Attorney. I appeared without a Lawyer at my first hearing and got off on the wrong foot with both the Judge & the DA. So Mr Shaffer who could have appeared by webex at my next hearing chose to drive 3 hrs to stand by me for my next hearing & got everything straightened up between myself, the DA & the Judge. We thought my case would go to Jury Trial and Mr. Shaffer and his Team built a great case to defend me. The DA a week from my Jury Trial offered a lousy deal and that’s when Mr Shaffer went to work on him and in a matter of a few days of Shaffer negotiating with the DA he got me a deal I could not turn down so I pleaded guilty to a much lesser charge. The offer went from jail time, 3-5 years probation & losing my hunting rights to 12 months unsupervised probation, a little community service, & a small fine. At my sentencing hearing Mr Shaffer again, could have appeared by WebEx but he chose to take the drive and stand by my side for sentencing. At the sentencing hearing the Judge asked for little details about my case before she would agree to the deal by the DA and Mr Shaffer made a statement on my behalf and said everything that I had been saying to him so that told me that he was listening the entire time and I felt like I was finally heard in the 2 years since the case began. My entire family is grateful to Mr Shaffer and his team and we all would recommend him for any defense case! He’s the best defense Attorney in Colorado!
