Getting a divorce is hard...being divorced can be pretty great though (if you have a good lawyer!) That's where Emily at Ellison Law came in for me. I had an extremely contentious and drawn out divorce due to my ex not wanting to cooperate and be civil. In times where it felt like my entire life way in full chaos, Emily's sound advice, level minded strategies, and keen awareness of the divorce process was my only saving grace. While divorce is ultimately painful, sad, expensive, and life-changing for everyone involved, having a good lawyer to help you through it and to help plan for what your life looks like after divorce is so critical, especially if you are divorcing someone who wants to make the process as difficult as possible. Emily had my back at every turn, she fought hard for me in court, and was so thoroughly prepared that it truly saved my life, the life I have now, the stability my kids have now. I had to put so much trust into Emily's guidance and knowledge of the system, and I'm so glad I did. She was thoughtful and kind, took the time to answer questions fully, explain processes to me, and think ahead for me (especially when all I could do was sometimes barely see through the day I was in). I truly don't know how I would be on this side of a very ugly divorce without her. If you are finding yourself going through separation or divorce, I can not recommend Ellison Law enough! We worked with Emily in a very contentious parental custody case. This case took over 2 years to finally come to a conclusion with numerous court hearings in between. Emily was very professional and very knowledgeable regarding every aspect of family law and it was very evident in everything she prepared.
She had to deal with a very difficult attorney as opposing counsel who's only goal was to get the "win" at any cost and badmouth my daughter every step along the way. Emily never sank to this attorney's level and always responded ethically and morally while also standing up for my daughter along the way. She always managed to direct us down the right path even when our emotions sometimes pushed us down another one. She did this not only professionally but also with empathy to the situation.
