Interactive broker is a great platform . A professional one.I work with options and build complex strategies with 4 or 6 legs or more. The option trader is wonderful, the only thing that lacks is a tool that shows me the graphic position in real time , with at now curve and the transaction already made for that stock expiration

When I first signed up with IBKR, I felt like a kid in a candy store, only instead of candy, it was access to global markets, low fees, and enough trading tools to make my head spin. Whether from the comfort of your office or on a beach in Zanzibar, IBKR is the real deal.

First off, let’s talk about those fees. They’re so low, it feels like they forgot to charge me for something. They’ve managed to combine professionalism with affordability, which is rare in the world of brokers. It's like finding a luxury car with the fuel economy of a scooter.

And then there’s the global reach—Asia? Yes. Europe? Of course. U.S.? Naturally. Want to buy stocks in Australia or bonds in Germany? Go ahead. IBKR opens up a world of opportunities.

Moving money in and out is seamless. My money arrives or departs without drama—exactly what you want when trading global markets.

The platform itself is professional, robust, and loaded with features, you don’t need to use everything it has to offer; you can focus on what suits your style.

If you’re looking for a broker that combines professionalism, low fees, and a world of opportunities, IBKR is the way to go.

I have used a number of brokers over the years beginning with Morgan Stanley who charged $80 to buy & another $80 to sell. That meant my stock had to move more than $160 to profit. 😲 Last time, I used that broker I went into his office to buy apple at $15 share. The broker talked me out of it. 😡 Used TDA think or swim for some time at $10 per trade.

Now have a Schwab free trading account and an IBKR free trading account which I use side by side and go back and forth using them. I like almost everthing about IBKR better. I like the layout, font, ease and intuitive design. I like the organization of the wealth of info at my fingertips including fundamentals, target price, news etc. I like the actual trade layout and execution. It is well designed and mostly free trades if you use lite version.

I prefer the sink or swim candle charts & level two. My think or swim has free realtime data; so, if a stock is moving fast, I look there and flip over to IBKR account to actually place trades. This is great for investor/swing trader like myself. For daytrades get the full version which charges small commissions/ fees. BTW IBKR was rated best broker by Barrons and their stock is shooting up like a rocket; so, be sure to get the stock as well as an account.

As a not pro trader, I am merely using and reviewing the mobile apps. I am watching stocks on a 180 candle chart and buying long positions at support levels to hold for generally more than one day till it is at a resistance profit level. Since IBKR trades are free, I can simply have a very diverse holding of many small positions which can be flipped regularly at small profits which add up quickly at very low risk. I also hold long dividend paying blue chips. This type trading means I do not need to sit at a computer and watch 10 sec or minute candles to trade micro moves. I am trading the longer undulations every stock follows.

Delving into the world of owing shares, I thought it would be more intense but using IBKR has made it seem straightforward enough and made purchasing stock accessible. I didn’t know where to begin with a brick and mortar broker!
Lots of KYC, even on the withdrawals but best to be above par when investing your own money!
If you want to get into buying shares/stock then don’t be afraid to have a go, IBKR app takes a little time to get used to, swapping currencies for different markets, Ticker symbols etc but do some research and get the app!
Would actually give 4.5 star, has been great getting into stock ownership from my phone!

I’ve never worked at IBKR but I can say that without question IBKR is the best electronic broker for advanced traders in the USA. If you’re a beginner there are better options but if you know what you’re doing these guys are the absolute best from a product breadth and execution standpoint.

A very powerful trading platform packed with professional level trading tools. It has a steeper than average learning curve to adapt to, but trust me, once you spend the time, it's worth it. I appreciate their smart-routing algorithms, rebates for liquidity market finder, fractional trades based on dollar amount instead of full shares only, and their bond trading platform. Free monthly wires are also great. They are growing rapidly so expect software updates(usually after US market close) and temporary longer waits for CS. Overall, I feel IBKR is on my side, not the pay-for-order-flow crowd. I've used IBKR since 2008.
