I file for divorce in family court & my experience wasn’t that great at all. I believe the judgment of my divorce wasn’t fair at all & I feel like the system was made to make sure men fail financially & emotionally. I have a daughter to take care of & the honorable Judge Paul Burmaster wasn’t fair with me at all. I’m trying to keep a roof over my daughter’s head & make sure she’s taking care of. Even having joint custody you’ll still pay a heavy price financially. I’m paying a huge portion from my check each month plus I’m not making that much as it is. Also he added extra money on top of the child’s support that made it even worse. I don’t care if I get in trouble calling out an unfair judgment. I will take care of my daughter & hopefully in the future they will make it easier on people who really trying to be parents.

I wish I could leave 0 stars. As a domestic violence survivor, I learned the hard way that Johnson County does its best to keep people from going to prison that TRULY deserve it. I was treated poorly from the victim advocate to the prosecutor to the judge. Nobody ever wants to talk on the phone, instead I am always asked to email someone, and I never get a reply. I will not stop until I get the answers I deserve not only as a citizen of Johnson County, but as a victim they failed to protect.

I haven’t had dealings personally but I have seen 1st hand the biased, the lies, allowing certain parties to enter evidence to a motion, judges yelling at the defendants and being so unprofessional, and much more. Kansas should be ashamed that this is how they think courts should be run. It’s very disturbing. Kansas is a pro-mom state instead of doing what is best for the child which is 50/50. This is why these kids are mentally messed up and emotionally scared for life. Then the real professionals are the ones treating the devastation y’all created. Kansas, you have a lot of work to do. Dads just want to be dads.. I’m a mom and I did what was best for my children and that was 50/50 without a fight and my ex and I used the same attorney. But, I wasn’t in this state, thank Goodness! These are kids lives you are destroying and what if it was your child DO BETTER, KANSAS!!

Combat Veteran here. Police officers first off very welcoming. Gave stickers to my kids. Communication skills A++.

Two clerks very unprofessional and lack any knowledge to work in any law profession setting. If you are going to be the face of Johnson County. provide facts instead of your personal values. Clerk scoffs at me because we don’t have the same religious beliefs. Was given misinformation at the wedding clerks office. Very unprofessional.

Update just received a court ordered Family Assessment from the Biron Satchel what a fiction. Took my words and twisted them. But what did I expect? Absolute lies and someone has a job who is not qualified. The assessment looks like a child wrote it. Kansas family courts are already stacked against a male Parent. When working with court services I recv'd what seemed to good services. You get out what you put in.

.001 of a star This system is all about money . Not public safety.or rehabilitation. I would love to have an honest higher authority audit them looking for kick backs and fair treatment. Who watches these people? Should a phone harassment charge set someone back $10,000.00. This system is more crooked than the crooks they house in there over crowded detention center. The inmates there are much nicer and more helpful . I think they have done enough people wrong to create an organization that makes sure what they are doing is fair and in the best interest of the public not the monitoring and counseling VENDORS they send you to. $$$$

Hey at least the facility is nicer than the last one. Maybe next time law makers should put that money towards hiring more officers to spread the impossible amount of cases assigned to the limited number of PO's the county employs. Just a thought.

Honestly, the facility is nice. Didn’t appreciate the women behind the front desk cackling and talking bad about people after they would get off of the phone with them. The opposite of professional.
