The service was amazing. Everyone was friendly with a positive attitude. Steak night is amazing. Cooked perfectly with amazing flavor. Breakfast is just as good, and the employees do everything possible to make your stay perfect. There's a lot of improvements going on. Wifi in the cabins can be tricky to get right now. They don't have cheap towels. They are the good ones you would use at home. Bed was comfortable. Nice quiet area on the river. Thanks to everyone here for a great stay.

The lodge is under new management this year and our experience was mixed. The lodge is in a nice location on the river, staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean, but I would expected a bit more for $852 for one night. The place had an untidy feel, as though it was still getting set up. There was nowhere to sit in the room other than the beds and the heater in the room was not working. The food at dinner was well prepared, though the $65 salmon sampler was supposed to have two 4 oz pieces of fish but instead came with two small pieces, probably 2 oz apiece.

We were a group of three couples that arrived in King Salmon on a Sunday evening the end of August We were promptly picked up at the airport by the lodge manager Matt. The lodge provided comfortable sleeping rooms as well as cozy dining area and bar. All the staff were super friendly and made sure all of us were enjoying ourselves frequently. The lodge provided excellent fishing attire and set up guided fishing trips with excellent guides. Can’t say enough good things about this lodge and it’s employees.

The lodge has an amazing spot right on the lake with easy access to fishing king salmon. Besides serving delicious food and wine in their restaurant, the real standout is the exceptional service. Matt is running a great lodge, the staff at the restaurant were kind and friendly, and best of all.. Timmy! He is the best fishing guide out there and goes to great extent to make sure you have the greatest experience. He is so caring and kind, helped me learn how to fish and we ended up catching a great king salmon! Can't wait to come back and spend more time here.

I stayed at the King Salmon Lodge (KSL) so that I could visit Katmai National Park and see the Alaskan wilderness. There is lots of great salmon fishing to be had, but I don't fish so that wasn't the purpose of my visit. The Lodge itself was quite nice, and the room that I had was nicely sized, with a comfortable bed. The shower had amazing water pressure and lots of hot water. I can't say enough nice things about how accommodating and friendly the staff was during my visit. The staff truly made me feel at home at the Lodge. They went out of there way multiple times to make sure that I enjoyed my stay there. Not meaning to leave anyone out, but Greg and Cory were especially great. Something that surprised me was that the internet was available way out there in the wilderness, although for a small fee. I think some rooms have TVs. I visited in early June, before the lodge was fully open for the tourist season (I missed the full opening by a couple of days). So, unfortunately, the dining room wasn't open so I couldn't experience what I believe are great meals. The staff did make sure I didn't go hungry, however, as breakfast was free and they were more than willing to drive me into the town of King Salmon for dinner. The town is very small, but the Sockeye Saloon has good food. ||They even made me a sandwich lunch when my flight was delayed and I stayed l longer than anticipated. About the only less-than-positive thing I have to say about KSL was that I tried to make this booking in late April/early May, and communications via email or phone were not that easy...it got a bit frustrating. Other than that, I'd definitely recommend the KSL, and I would stay there again if I visited the area.

This was such a great experience! The lodge picked us up at the plane. I had surgery and had limited mobility. The lodge gave us a room right next to the common room. They provided a wheel chair. We arrived with 2 hours before a flight to Kat Mai. They fixed lunch for us, and then drove us to the float plane. That night we had a great meal of chili. The chef, Ian, gave me the recipe when I complimented him. The next morning was a breakfast buffet. It was extraordinary; the eggs were fluffy, the salsa home made, and the pancakes were super. Our plane out was not until late afternoon. Since it was rainy, the staff made us lunch, and provided decaf coffee for me. The scenery is beautiful, the deck comfortable, and the people went over 100% to accommodate you. I will go back in a heartbeat!
