Stephen G. James is the best attorney I have ever came across in my lifetime. I have worked in the criminal justice system/civil arena for over 25 yrs of my career. Stephen has represented several of my family members in the last 30 yrs and won every trial. This man has not lost a trial since 1994. He is an intelligent, professional and fair attorney. I was a little perturb and surprised by some of these negative reviews it sounds personal and politically charged. So I would like to address a few of these reviews. Sonia Rodriguez first of all all attorneys charge a consultation fee and you claim you paid $300 cash, well I know for a fact the consultation fee for Mr. James is $350. You have a choice to pay by credit/debit card or cash. I guess you don't have a bank account or good credit because if you did you should have paid using a credit/debit card and if you paid cash I am sure you received a receipt. I don't think you are too smart if you allowed a car dealership misrepresent you on a purchase of a brand new car makes no sense to me. You probably have bad credit and they charged you higher interest rate. JH you claim Stephen is illiterate and ignorant and didn't return your calls, I find that hard to believe as well. Here is what I think if he was representing a family member and postponed a hearing (you don't waive hearings) most likely it was because the family only paid a retainer fee and that does not cover all of the court filings, motions etc. so you're the illiterate and ignorant one. Jake Howland, Mr. James is not uneducated he graduated 2 years early from law school, speaks several languages and is a pillar in his community. He has received many awards and accolades for his work and in the community for over 30 years. Lyndsay H. if Mr. James was a scam lawyer he would not have longevity. In conclusion Mr. James is not an 18B, Legal Aid or Pro-Bono attorney he already and still does charity work. You people want something for nothing and for the life of me I don't know what world you all are living in. Here is a question do you work for free Mr. James is straight forward and not afraid to charge, he knows his worth. You people just simply can't afford him so just tell the truth and don't blame him for your short comings because he always is up front what your case will cost you. He is in the league with high profile attorneys i.e. Johnnie Cochran, Robert Kardashian, Alan Dershowitz, F. Lee Baily, Barry Scheck etc. If you want free legal assistants call Legal Aid and or tell the Judge you can't afford an attorney and one will be assigned to you. My family never had a problem with him being non-responsive or unprofessional WHY...BECAUSE WE PAID MR. JAMES WHAT HE WAS WORTH AND CHARGING. Stephen G. James keep fighting the good fight you are the people's attorney. This all sound politically charged haters gone hate especially on a successful, educated, professional African American Man. You need to run for political office shoot if Donald Dump the cry baby sore loser can do it, you most certainly can. One thing for sure I know that these people were never clients and never came into your office all of these negative reviews stems from Social Media and their personal disagreement with his political and other views which he has a right to his views. If you don't like what his views are stay off his social media pages. Stop trying to ruin this man's business because of your personal views you never met this man in your life.

Stephen is the worst! Illiterate and ignorant. He did not return my phone calls and he waived the hearing without informing his client or any of his family members who took the day off. Very unprofessional rude, and inconsiderate. Don't waste your money here.
