A wonderful, wonderful resource if you’re eligible. I was paired with attorney, Amanda Franklin, and paralegal, Jessica Bowman. These women were amazing; they fought for me and kept me updated on any movement in the case. Jessica provided me with lots of wonderful insight as I navigated through a system that once terrified me and caused me such anxiety. Having LANT in my corner restored my faith in the legal system. People leaving bad reviews bc they may not have, ā€œwonā€ their cases… the court cares about the children… not you.

I initially was so grateful for the attorney I have. However, I was told that the judge was ruling in my favor. Unfortunately that was untrue even with my domestic violence. My attorney was not speaking up or objecting and ultimately the judge ruled for me to sell my house and my 4 kids and I have to find a new place. My ex quits job after job to avoid paying child support yet my attorney didn’t speak up on the fact that I haven’t received child support in over 6 months. Didn’t use all the evidence I sent. I really thought she was helping me and I understood she had other cases however I have been trying to contact her for nearly a month unsuccessfully via email and calls daily trying to get an update as I don’t want to be held in contempt of court when I have no clue of what’s going on with my case. I can’t seem to get anyone to contact me from my attorney to the paralegal. I’ve even tried different legal aid numbers who told me they’d tell her to call. I understand she may be quite busy but I can respect a call or email response but I’m not getting any responses. This is sad. I do hope she’s okay and that they can give me another attorney if she can’t continue my case.

I have concerns about this organization's operations and ethical practices. It seems possible that their funding may be based on the number of applicants rather than the number of individuals they actually assist.

I previously contacted them and provided my address and county of residence. Despite knowing they did not service my area, they still requested my Social Security number, which I found highly inappropriate. Additionally, the legal advice they offer appears to be more aligned with the interests of the court system rather than truly supporting those in need.

My experience with Scott was particularly disappointing, as he refused to return calls or emails. In my opinion, he appears selective about the cases he takes on, possibly driven by personal interests rather than a genuine desire to help.

The intake staff I interacted with were unprofessional, rude, and demanding. It felt as though their primary goal was to process applications simply to maintain funding rather than provide meaningful assistance. This organization seems to be exploiting vulnerable individuals who cannot afford legal representation.

Ethical conduct and genuine compassion should be the foundation of any service organization, particularly those serving low-income individuals. I hope they reassess their practices and begin to prioritize helping those in need with integrity. The worst types of individuals are those who take advantage of the poor and needy. They deserve to lose their 501(c)(3) status.

After being on hold for half an hour, a recording said someone will call me. It took five calls like that, and five days before I got a call. They took all of my personal information, put me on hold, and told me that they would not be helping me ā€œbecause of a conflict of interest, but, that’s all I can tell you.ā€ That had me so upset, until I read the reviews and saw that they do this A LOT. It’s total Bullshit.

The moment you call this place, they know that they do not have enough attorneys to take on anymore cases but still have people go through the whole process and waste their time. I was told a bunch of garbage over the phone about why my case wasn’t accepted. They call you for your appointment then you’ll wait another two days just to hear ā€œunfortunately your case was not acceptedā€. These people help who they want to help in my opinion. Discrimination is illegal but these people do not care.

Where to behind?
Started my divorce in 04/13/2021 by myself, had my kids and she lawyers up with legal aid (filed 8/10/2021 11:18am) Stacie weight represented her for one court date, here we are 10/3/2023 I call legal aid to get this done and need an attorney they stated it’s a conflict of interest and refuse to help me but also stated Stacie Wright does not work for egos aid of northwest tx any longer. If so then how is it a conflict of interest? Is it because it’s a set her who is actually trying and fighting for his kids? The lady on the intake line stated she takes in right around 300 calls a day and turns down 75% as they only have ā€œ40 attorneysā€ . So you provided a service and refuse to help people in that service. Man it’s bad being a father fighting for your rights to your kids in this state, you wonder why people are the way they are in these custody battles. If I could give this a 0 start I would, it’s nothing but piss poor judgment. I asked to speak to a person of Managment about the situation and was told the person I talked to was the supervisor of intake and I wouldn’t get past her to speak to anyone. I pray y’all get things in order in the future and services get better. There is real people out here that need real help. I pray the day come you need the help you can get it. With all evidence I have I’m just going to fight and represent myself the rest of my case because seems to be the legal system refuses to help.
