West Michigan's legal aid system is a joke. We put in an application MONTHS ago for assistance with bankruptcy, and we were NEVER called about our case.
My husband sat on the phone with legal aid when the person on the phone said "They will call you back in 2 to 3 weeks on whether or not they will be taking our case."
2 weeks pass, nothing.
3 weeks pass, nothing.
Husband calls again and gets a different worker. Said phone call resulted in being told "We shouldn't have given you a time frame. If they won't take the case, you'll never get a call."

Spent over a year trying to get help, called multiple times. Have been given the runaround and would not recommend this service, you will give them all of your information, including your problems and they will never call you back. Nor will they email you, like a human being deserves to have a response, right?

Was sent over to this agency to get help with a disability case talk to someone for a very short time sent out emails and never got returned any emails or calls had two cases without a lawyer present due to no one returning calls or emails. Have called The office for the months in advance before any hearing and still nothing back, so unprofessional.

If I could give no stars I would. The Holland legal aid does not care and they suck at helping people especially Kassie Evenson!!! Refuses to answer calls or return calls. Refuses to update me on my case. Missed 3 of my court hearings this place is a joke and so is Kassie. Would not recommend!

Was told they don't deal with guardianship.

Told me to find a private attorney.

Umm a private attorney wants 3-5k down to start.

Hence why I need legal aid. Im attempting to get disability and can't afford that.
