I've called multiple time and left voicemails. Detailed voicemail on when I'm on my lunch hour. They call and if you are unable to answer, they immediately reject your intake form and application. How does this help the people? It's like they don't want us to work.

I'm sorry when I have to give one star. I don't understand about situation with others case, but with me, after I contacted with one volunteer here made my mental is worse. Before and after I contacted the first time, I hoped and I waited for to have another contact again, I tried to call her number 4 times, I wrote email and I begged her please give one more time to ask some questions (she said with only 1st email that "If you have any other questions, or if I got any information about your situation incorrect, please let me know and I will get back to you as soon as possible"). I don't know "as soon as possible" is how long? or if she can not help me, please don't promise.
My mental is so bad, but after reaching this volunteer, my mental is worse and worse when waiting for.
I'm sorry when saying this.

Unfortunately between Covid and an injury that made me stop working for a while I’ve needed their help a few times over the years. Once they were on the news claiming to help with landlord tenant issues, so I called them and the woman who answered said they didn’t handle it landlord tenant issues…had to go over her to find out supposedly they do but they were full. This was in 2022 and 2 years later when you call they still say they don’t have the resources. I don’t know what the lady at the front desks problem is or what these people actually do but it’s crazy to me they are never available to provide the services they advertise. They mailed paperwork to ME and told me to call them, just to not be able to help They’ve never provided me anything other than false hope honestly.

UPDATE: We lost the case for the reason I said. The judge accused us of lying and trying to stall the court.

Called the service. A week later, I was given a call by Marissa Schiro. She took all of my information down. She said, "I'm going to tell you right now, you're accepted." She advised me to tell the court I have a lawyer. She advised me to ask for a continuance. She told me that I would have a lawyer before my next court date. And then they ghosted me. I went to their office yesterday to ask what was up. A lawyer there told me I had been rejected due to being understaffed. They weren't going to notify me. I have court today. The judge is going to accuse me of just stalling. The judge awarded the other party a lawyer because I got one. And now I'm being told that Marissa has extensive training, and would never say those things. Don't go to this legal office. They are as about as good as a public defender, and we all know how far they get you. No communication. All the excuses. I'm in a worse position now than I was because I followed their legal advice, and they didn't follow through on their contract.

Wasn't trying to give a 1 star i want to reach out to inform of our concerns why Noone communicate with my daughter the laywer suppose to reinsurance us not keep us in a limbo legal aid on forests park please help bring my grandson home PLEASE

All I HAVE TO say is if its not something simple for their end they will not help you. I ran around with my head chopped off trying to get all information to them in a timely manor and spoke with one of their attorneys for him to call me several times and ask question and then tell me that he doesn't even know if he will accept my case but will get back to me in 2 days. Two days go by and I never hear a thing. So I emailed them asking for all my paperwork back. Then only for the attorney to call me back 2 days before court to ask where he is sending my paperwork back too. Mind you my case is against fair housing because my landlord is retalliationg against and does not like the breed of MY EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ANIMAL. 10 OUT 10 WOULD.NOT RECOMMEND IF YOU HAVE ANY MORE THEN A RENT POSSESION CASE.

The services they offer sound wonderful but the people that actually call you to follow up are complete trash. The lady I spoke with is slow I clearly and slowly explained my situation and she still said she couldn’t help because my relative still has a guardian after I just told her the guardian passed away and I need help becoming his guardian since I was not listed as her successor. This lady was such in a rush to hang up and refer me to the next organization when I had to tell her to slow down, listen, and pay attention cause she wasn’t hear to help she was here to rush me off the phone so she could tell the next person the same thing. I really hate for someone to contact these people really needing help and get rushed and not heard like the intake specialist that called me back. If people didn’t need it they wouldn’t call asking for it but obviously we do but this interaction made me just want to be able to seek private legal counsel. It was so horrible I just contacted HR to volunteer for intake to help when people call in cause this is ridiculous how many people are saying the same thing.

It’s been 3 months almost since I contacted these people and STILL have not gotten a call returned. I’m in a case fighting to see my son, whom I haven’t seen in months even though there’s a court order for me to have my time with him. Nobody seems to give a damn, especially not these people. I was going to reach out again but after reading all these reviews, I’d rather skip the free aid and go BACK into court ALONE, AGAIN, and just deal with it myself. Absolute zero stars if I could.
