Benjamin Challingsworthwas assigned to me and did not help defend me at all. It felt as if he were working for the other attorney. He did not bring up anything that was pertinent to my case. I ended up having my dog taken away from me and my name on a 6 year loan for a car that my abuser drivers every day. I have been to another lawyer to get off this loan and Benjamin Challingsworth has put me in a position where I am unable to get my name off this loan unless my abuser puts the car in his name.

They never like to answer the phone or call you back when you leave them a message. I have been calling for weeks now.

Very informational, helpful. Attorney was unable to physically represent me because I applied for representation less than one week before my court hearing. However, I got a prompt response via phone from Attorney Rebecca Ardoline. She was genuinely concerned and attentive. E-mailed me a very important affidavit that I would need. Great job from Mid Penn Legal Aid through entire process both times. (My second time using them.)

Every time I call them... typically during times of turmoil and tragedy...they either "don't do that" or don't have the applicable program(s) in my county. It destroys lives when we're forced to live inside matrices of arcane laws and agencies and following the rules just gets you eaten up...destroyed and exhausted. 😞

Their resources on the website pointed me in the right place for tenants act vs landlords vs utility and eviction. In my eyes I won the case because my landlord did not keep his home I was renting up to safe living standards so I didn't pay for two months which should been at least 6 months because there was a fire in the basement, sewer backed up and hot water tank did not work. Neither of those major problems were address in the numerous text message and phone calls I had made to him. Mid Penn legals resources guided me how to represent my self and that I did. I had pictures receipts and witness and the outcome was I didn't have to pay the back rent which was what I wanted out of it. I was already moving out because my son 4yrs old was constantly sick from the sewage in the basement. Thank you for putting your panflits on line and teaching the correct way to represent myself in district court.

I recommend this place if you need a lawyer for any of your court cases. Mid Penn provides representation in cases involving Protection Orders, Family Law, Housing, Expungement, Sealing Records, Pardons so you can gain employement, Unemployment Compensation, Medical Assistance, the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (Food Stamps), Low Income Heating and Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and Women Infants and Children (WIC). They do a lot and I feel they are the best. My lawyer was Schawnne Kilgus. She was amazing, extremely attentive, and knowledgeable. She made it so I understood everything from beginning to the end. I was comfortable and at ease. She made the entire process run smooth. If you need legal advice I suggest you give them a call. Highly recommended.

Susan, who was assigned to my case, did NOTHING to defend me. Lied that she would take on an appeal. Let the judge mock mental health and autism. Ended up losing my kid because my "legal representation " didnt defend a THING. Do not go through this unless you know the other party your up against, doesnt have money. It's free for a reason.
