$200 a week. I contacted the code enforcement because the work that needs to be done to the house that he can not do is a condemnable offense. They never returned my call, I was told "I'll make some calls and call you back" that was never done when I emailed her to let her know I didn't hear back from her she says " I reached out to the property owner and haven't received a call back" days later I received a eviction on the door which is fine I was moving anyways but needed more time I'm 4 weeks pregnant my fiance is not here at the moment and instead of going through the proper channels they let him slide obviously cause he's big in this community. Hopefully the city does something about this property and they eventually condemn this house I don't have a lot of money but I would of took every penny I owned to make that placey own we loved it so much. The landlord is just horrible. Watch the code enforcement I'm highly sure they had something to do with this

I was trying to get some electrical service inspected on my house for an upgrade. When I called and try to get some guidance as to the regulations, I was told that they would not help because that would be “doing the work for me”, and if I didn’t know all the codes and regulations for the county I should just hire a contractor unless I couldn’t afford it. Mind you I wasn’t asking for specific codes or regulations I was asking for where to get the information from, I was simply looking for a resource. I asked the lady who is being difficult if she could give me a call back sometime later on that afternoon to help me with my issue because something had just came up at work and I didn’t have time to beg for help. She kept telling me the same thing over and over again “sir you just apply online for your permit and then we will call you to set up an inspection appointment“. Absolutely horrible experience. This is not what I expect out of the people who are there to support the citizens of Newton County. I have a career in mechanic field and I was spoken to when I went up to the office in person as if I was an idiot. I was interrogated aggressively as to what other improvements were being made on my home. I explained that there were no other permits needed other than the electrical permit because I had found that information out online (not from the Newton County website by the way). I was told that if there were any other improvements being made on the home whenever the inspector showed up they would refuse to pass the work off as being up to code. I understand the need to have an accurate and legitimate permit to get work done on your home, however I do not feel that you should be belittled because you refuse to explain to a clerk about any and all improvements you doing on your home. (I was only having hardwood and carpet replaced inside the home and obviously you don’t need a permit for that work) eventually Miss Crystal D was able to get me squared away and assist me during this traumatic event. Denise however acted as if me needing anything from her was a extreme inconvenience. If you ever go up here and need to talk to someone do not allow someone named Denise to assist you she is rude unprofessional inconsiderate and overall quite frigid. Again once Miss Crystal realized that I was not being deliberately difficult and was simply trying to get my question answered and have some help she was extremely professional and very helpful in getting my issue resolved.

We have so much traffic on Brown Bridge Road due to too many subdivisions!! You need to stop!! We have a hard time even turning out of our driveway. The noise is so bad! We moved here in 1968. None of the changes to Brown Bridge Road have been good. Planners, you need to stop. We don’t need any more development!

Does anyone even work here? I've been calling and emailing these folks for days... They respond once a week at best, never answer the phone and when they do, even the Director of certain departments say they don't know the answer for the dept they are the Director? I'm so confused and frustrated with this municipality. Do Better Newton County!!

It is very clear to me why these people have a 1 star rating. Their customer service is absolutely horrendous. Cutting me off while I speak and wouldn’t even let me get a word in. Y’all need to take a Customer service and ethics class immediately if not sooner.
