Choose Provenance Auctions Estate Sales!
As a non-regulated industry, it is difficult to find and hire a trustworthy estate sale company. Putting my recently deceased father’s estate into the hands of a company I believed, at the time, would find new homes for 3 generations of heirlooms proved to be a disheartening experience with a month-long police investigation as the end result. Not knowing how to manage the remains of the estate and having lost faith in the entire process, I asked my realtor if he knew of a reputable company. Without any reservation, he referred me to Chris, owner and operator of Provenance Auctions Estate Sales.
Chris, with his knowledge of the industry and standard practices, expertise in assessing the true value of items, a keen understanding of human behavior and what drives the marketplace, was able to salvage the remains of the estate. Chris is a true professional. He is intelligent, well organized, reliable, and has excellent communication skills and follow-thru keeping the client well informed throughout the process. He is respectful and sensitive to the needs of his client. Although he was the second company to come in, he maintained a positive attitude throughout the set-up, sale, and delivery of goods. He was realistic in his assessments and expectations. He checked all the boxes . . . providing a written contract outlining the responsibilities of both parties and transparency with respect to which items were part of the sale and what they sold for. He left our family home in good order at the close of the sale.
Losing a loved one and parting with the things that were so much a part of the family is a sad and difficult life experience. When a company lacks the respect, dignity and trust needed to put closure to the things that reflected a person and their family’s life they fail the family in just so many ways and really discredit the estate sale industry.
My experience working with the Provenance company renewed my faith and trust in an industry that is designed to help families. I cannot say enough good things about Chris and his company. He turned a bad outcome into a positive one and created a meaningful experience for our family as we said our “goodbyes” to the things that were once important to all of us.
Many thanks, Chris!

Very unprofessional seller. Requested a very small and easy to ship item to be sent to me. Probably less than 5 minutes to package up. Spoke to seller the day after auction. He assured me it would take about a week to ship. I reached out after 1 1/5 weeks. Left MANY voicemail and emails. All ignored. Finally heard back with lame excuses 3 weeks later. "Didn't realize it wasn't shipped." "Shipper had Covid."
Save yourself from aggravation.
