RE: Referral # 3694492 . If I could give this service ZERO stars, I would. This is my second and LAST time I contact SDCBA to get a referral. I have never heard anything effective about this service, but thought things might change.
I called the two referrals given to me and as expected and told to me by several, neither returned my very professional messages. NEITHER. But this was my experience prior to this a year or so ago. I will not do this again. Ever.

Frankly I experience this "service" as 'lip service", but considering the reputations of Licensed Attorneys and the State Bar, my expectations were met with this little experience.

Their lawyer referral is Pathetic! it’s mandatory you divulge information about your matter before they can provide a list of attorneys in the field of choice, such as criminal attorneys etc. and even then; they will have someone call you back, you will not get the list of attorneys of that speciality. It’s a Worthless Referral! Don’t waste your time

The representative I tried explaining my situation to was disrespectful and kept cutting me off. She asked for an overview of what happened and as I was explaining she kept rushing me to tell her the exact issue, when I was literally explaining the EXACT medical malpractice issue. The brief details were important, and she made me feel unimportant. I’ll never try and find a lawyer through y’all again, and I won’t recommend this resource to anyone.

I called the referral service looking to bring an attorney in at my place of employment and was told they could not refer me to a lawyer due to the fact that I work for a public agency and their lawyers are only available to the "Public".

I hope the attorneys on their referral service know that they are being denied the opportunity to receive guranteed work on multi-year government contracts because of this "service".

The Bar Association is not the entity that we all think it is. They disbar a couple of drug addicted lawyers a year because they haven’t paid their dues. Lawyers that actually commit crimes against their own clients are safe if their dues are current. After submitting verified and very easy to understand evidence to the Bar which a kindergartner can see is illegal and immoral actions taken by an attorney in their own clients not best interests, you will go home and feel a little better by knowing that even won’t be able to hurt anyone who trusts them again.
What you’ll get is a form letter in the mail from
The Bar Association which states that what happened to you was just a misunderstanding between you and your lawyer - this agency should be ashamed of itself!

The San Diego Bar Association has a referral program where you can call in, and ask for an attorney based on the specialized areas of law (estate, probate, divorce, tax). The Bar Association will then email you the names and contact information for three lawyers. The lawyers will be provided with your information and will offer a preliminary screening and consult. I found this to be very helpful. Thank you!

I mean I don't especially have an overwhelming opinion of them but they have been rather underwhelming. I first attempted to get a referral from them close to a decade ago. The one attorney I met with seemed to want your cookie cutter matter. I attempted to get an attorney on a matter that it seems happens to be a civil rights matter. They said they did not have a civil rights attorney. So many attorneys say they don't handle this and that but I can refer you to the SDCBA. So I contacted an attorney who delt with an aspect of my matter but the other aspect was not his purview, so to speak. So one of these said contact the SDBCA. I said I did and they said they don't have this an attorney that can handle this type of matter. He said that he thought that they did now. Will so I tried again. This time around they said the same. So I thought ok I spent some time writing my matter I at least can get a copy of what I wrote and kind of send it around and continue with this difficult journey. Well they sent me someone elses matter with all their private information and then I said this isn't me and they said this is all they had for me but persistence paid they figured it out and I got my copy.
