Borrego Springs Library - 5 Stars
An absolute gem in Borrego Springs! This library exceeds expectations across the board.
The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. They really make you feel truly welcome. The building itself is beautiful. It has an aesthetically pleasing design with open, clean spaces, comfortable seating indoors and on the covered outdoor patio.
The available resources are impressive, especially if you want to learn about the local Anza-Borrego Desert State Park and area. Extensive materials on hiking trails, backcountry roads, geography, wildlife, plants, and the Native American history and culture of the valley. You can even check out free State Park vehicle passes for the day.
Beyond that, they have a wide variety of movies, music, DVDs (plus players you can borrow), newspapers, periodicals, and more. Excellent internet and air conditioning to escape those hotter than Africa months of the year
Other amenities include a computer lab, printing services, a 3D printer, and drinking fountains. An all-around fantastic library that exceeds what you'd expect for a small town. An invaluable community resource and space.

This library has the worst hours and seems to be closed half the time. Was closed today because of Veterans Day? which is tomorrow! Will probably be closed again tomorrow, and then not open again until Tues afternoon. What library is closed on weekends! Can't ever get my printing work done.

Not only architecturally magnificent, it is built practically for flash floods, and is very usable in a programmatic sense. The layout is very humane, quiet, open and spacious, taking good advantage of the beautiful outside views. It is a nice, well lit and comfortable place to read! There is also a nice patio area that is very pleasant to use during clement Winter weather. Overall a very smart, thoughtful design. San Diego county has some of the best branch architecture in the country, and they really nailed it in Borrego Springs. (Maps asks for update. I look around. It is still the same. Walk outside, still the same. All good.)

Stopped in here as I did not download enough Netflix during our vacation. It took 40 minutes for 7 one hour episodes. Much faster than anywhere else we had tried. Others in our group checked out their computers to catch up on other things.

This is a beautiful library. It is well arranged for different age groups and activities. The staff was very helpful. A room at the front had tons of books for sale for only $1.00.

Great new location opened 12/8/18 and is a vast improvement over the former with more space, free (soon-to-be-Gigabit-speed) wifi, a patio with panoramic views, a computer lab, conference and work spaces, an expansive children's section and homework area, automated laptop rentals, a 3D printer, and more. This is going to be the perfect new community space for Borrego. It is part of a complex that includes a new Sheriff's office as well as a new park with tons of amenities. Looking forward to spending some more time here.
