I had an excellent experience with Servpro of Birmingham. They thoroughly cleaned my attic and HVAC vents, and the entire process was handled with great professionalism and care.

Kevin Naler led the operation seamlessly. He took the time to listen to my concerns and made sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Chris Parker provided a prompt and clear estimate, allowing the team to get to work without delay.

Pablo and Jobani, who carried out much of the on-site work, were incredibly professional, respectful, and hardworking. By the end of the second day, they felt like part of our family. Their dedication and friendly demeanor made the whole experience even better.

First, it’s important to note that the remediation and reconstruction sides of the business are operated independently of each other.

TL;dr: The remediation process was amazing from the first call to the final cleanup. However, reconstruction has not been the same level of service and I might not use them again for recon in the future.

For the remediation side I have nothing but praise. From the moment we discovered that our water heater had flooded the basement while on vacation and called Servepro, everyone was super helpful. The first call taker, then the on call guy, to the team that removed all of the wet trim and carpet pad, and the subsequent daily check ups and calls from the supervisor. Everything was done in a timely manner and much more affordable than I imagined.

The next step was reconstruction. We didn’t have a contractor, so we went with Servepro since the previous experience was so great. This time however, it has not been as seamless. The estimator came out and was prompt, friendly, and worked well with our insurance, getting things covered that we weren’t expecting. So far so good.

However, our recon supervisor did not show up at the agreed upon time for the initial walk through. I wasn’t pleased because I left work for it. So, I had to leave work again the next day. The supervisor said that he would drop off the carpet sample book, and never did. So we went to Lowe’s to look at carpet to get ideas and sent him some pictures. He responded with pictures of samples that were nothing like what we wanted. Finally, I told him to take pictures of all the samples he had. We finally agreed on one, even though it’s not what we were after.

Communication was a little spotty, but the workers did a decent job with trim and paint, and we received fairly regular updates. Wasn’t a fan of the supervisor’s excuses for why we hadn’t heard from him, or his lack of showing up sometimes, or how the office where the carpet samples was a wreck and he couldn’t find them all.

Then out of the blue, a couple days after I last heard from the supervisor I got a call from a new supervisor who said the previous one is no longer with the company. Okay. I told him what we were waiting on and he was quick to locate our carpet and schedule a time for it to be installed.

They wanted to do Saturday, and that was fine. Issue is they didn’t order enough carpet, so the job is only half done and they worked for half a day. So now the stairs from the garage to the main level is half padded, half carpeted but not secured, and all the tack strips are exposed. So can’t really let the little kids use the stairs.

Also, they left a pile of old carpet and padding in the driveway. It’s taking up space, getting rained on, and the dogs keep trying to eat the padding. Plastic and padding is blowing around.

The workers left on Saturday and we didn’t hear anything from them about the job status. Figured I would hear something Monday, but didn’t so I called the new supervisor. He said he had to order more carpet. I advised him of the stairs and the pile of old carpet and pad and the issue with it. He said he would contact the crew and take care of it. It’s Tuesday evening and nothing has been taken care of.

I have no doubt the job will be completed eventually, and probably well. But don’t expect the same level of excellence in recon as you receive in remediation.

My cats turned on a bathroom faucet and flooded their room which resulted in a lot of mold growth inside the walls. It was a disaster. Keith, JP, Benji, and Taylor from Servepro did a perfect job with mitigation. They were quick and very professional. They knew what they were doing. Much Thanks!!

Matthew, Tyler and team did an excellent job on our reconstruction from small house fire. They had to completely remove melted carpet, replace with LVP, paint all upper level walls and ceilings and replaced stairwell carpet with matching hardwoods. All work was early explained and walked us through project. They were quick and excelt quality. Cleaned up after completion and reset rooms. Very pleased with work.

Our home flooded and Evan was our first contact He was at our house within the hour and told us to stop working because they would take care of it all! Thank you Evan!!!! Luke Potts, with Mitigation is the absolute best, ten stars for Luke Potts!!!!!! Luke stayed in constant contact to ensure all the water was removed from our home. Every other day Luke was either at our home or he sent someone else in his place!!! Did I say 10 stars for Luke?!!!! Will Nelson, the project manager worked tirelessly to get the estimate approved. Will was awesome with true Southern Hospitality! Christina with customer care was wonderful, any questions I had she advised with the right staff members and returned my calls the same day! She was very patient and kind, truly amazing at her job. Donnie Douglas, the superintendent was absolutely amazing! He made sure everything was completed as planned. He advised, updated, and answered every call I made to him. Donnie was professional and showed compassion towards us through our disaster. Best of all Donnie completed the project before the estimated timeline! Ten stars for Donnie!

Juan and Jake came today and pulled up our floors to dry the subfloors. They cleaned up after themselves, explained everything to me that they were doing. They were respectful, did not cuss or smoke. Appreciate the service.
