In my opinion you should go elsewhere if you were a stay at home Mom.

I was advised to leave my home, accept 50/50 custody and received future compensation, which has left me with no current support. It seems to me there was no logical reasoning as to why that decision was made.

I was going through divorce as an immigrant woman without family in the US. It was difficult enough and my attorneys did not communicate clearly, and did not appear to advocate for me. I was a home maker for 16 years and now my credit is ruined and I have to work several jobs to make ends meet while my ex is living the exact same lifestyle in my former house.

On the day i signed the divorce papers, I received a bill, which i was previously told my ex would have to pay. For some reason I was asked to show pictures of my ex by my attorney. She appeared unprofessional to me and was wearing sweat pants and seemed to have dirty hair.

Needless to say, this attorney appears to me to advocate for whoever holds the checkbook in the relationship.

I reached out to a law firm for an adoption, but the first red flag was how disorganized the receptionist was. He scheduled me for a phone consultation, and on the day of the appointment, the attorney called. I kept saying “hello,” but she couldn’t hear me and hung up without calling back. When I called the office, the receptionist said the attorney was having phone issues and would need to reschedule, but the next available appointment wasn’t for another week. I had already waited a week for this 30-minute consultation, so I cancelled and went with another firm. If the attorney didn’t have time for a quick phone call, I didn’t feel confident she’d have time for my case.
