Brittany Mangan in their Family Law Department is amazing! She took my case on, despite her busy schedule and some complications (namely distance) with my case, and jumped in fully committed to my needs. I had had other counsel who had told me that what I believed was best for my child, regarding custody and support was unreasonable. Brittany listened carefully and sympathetically to my situation and validated what I thought was right and reasonable. After retaining her, she jumped right into the middle of my case and with only a few day's notice, was able to advocate, prove & defend my position in my support case, with a winning outcome. This was in stark contrast to my prior attorney who recommended that I simply roll over to my ex's demands based on lies. Brittany is committed to supporting and doing what's best for children while continuing to advocate and represent her clients. This is what I believe all Family Law Attorneys should strive to do regarding custody and support. Excessive consultation and legal fees. Information received in consultation conversation can be googled. I consulted with an estate planning lawyer who claimed the fees covered 30+ preparation hours. What preparation? She responded to an email inquiry and scheduled a call with me. which she stretched out to 90 mins when it could have been wrapped up in 60 mins. During the call, she took notes - none of which were followed up on because I chose not to move forward after being given an estimate of $15,000 for services - which were 3x what other comparable lawyers were charging. She did no research and no other work to justify a $750 fee charged. Unless you are in an extremely high wealth bracket, I recommend bypassing their services. Set up calls with firms that do not charge for consultation unless you are 100% certain you will be engaging their services. In that case, the fee will be applied to said services. It's shocking how exploitative legal entities can be for estate planning services. No wonder so many people pass away without a will and their estates have to be probated. I also advise researching legal services before you need them to avoid being exploited when under stress, duress or urgency. Unfortunately, there are lawyers and legal firms out there who will exploit your stress and urgency vs having time to interview and choose legal representation for fit, fairness and level of success representing cases like yours.

My lawyer was Steve Polyakov and I don´t recommend his services. The lack of answer and the fact of not being focus in getting a solution made the case lasted for 12 long years, and I ended up spening lot of money for nothing. Because the company we sued closed. When I told him the company closed, Steve even tried me to continue to pursue the old owners.... that is ridiculous, just for paying him more money.... he should have work hard during the 12 years that the case lasted, and what he did was not answering emails during months and disapeard and be busy with other cases. When I asked for a detailed invoice with what they were doing, just they said it is not usual to give that much details.
My recommendation, don´t waste your time and energy with this lawyer. Everything will be great as soon as he get the retainer, then later, forget about getting answers and having the work done.
In addittion I would like to say that this is not a complicated case, this should have been solved in no more than 4 years, he just made it longer and longer disapearing. I have lot of evidences of emails asking for his reply, lots of them.
