I was scared to switch attorneys because I was stuck in my comfort zone as the last person had known me for a few years But I’m glad I switched to Matt’s office. So far, he has been responsive and attentive to understanding my goals and what I am trying to accomplish. He also seems to know the law better than my last counsel and this key factor is extremely important when hiring an attorney. Matt is more than just any lawyer, he’s a lifetime lawyer. I’ve encounter many lawyers and worked with different lawyers. But when I meet Matt for my dependency case, he immediately knew what to do in my case, he reviewed the report with me and he starting to work a game plan to get my children back under my care as soon as possible. Matt got my children back to my custody (primary) in less than 6 months, I didn’t even have to show up for my exit order, Matt handled it all through email with counsels. Until this day, I call Matt for any other legal matters, I refer him to my friends and family. It’s very hard to trust lawyers due to so many that take advantage and I know as it happened to me, but Matt is honest, hardworking and he loves what he does. I will continue to refer Matt because when it comes to our kids, we don’t have time to waste. Thank you Matt.

We have had problems with this lawyer from day 1. Whoever mentioned that you would be better off with a court appointed attorney knows what I’m talking about. Went to court today and the case should have been closed out just to find out he had dropped out of the case ( we prepaid until case was closed ) but he apparently has been giving some of his case loads to the father’s attorney which now has caused a conflict and neither one of them representing either parent in this case which is now caused this case to continue until next month. We ask about finishing this case and he said oh it will all work out and the child will go back to the mother, not offering to represent us or give us any remedy. He did not prepare us for this ahead of the court case. It was a shock/surprise as we sat in the courtroom to find out he would no longer be representing us. He also did not previously tell us he was going to be hiring or working with the father‘s attorney. He would always make appointments that we would have to continually call to get him to show up at and they would be hours late if at all. The state was prepared today to give custody of the child to the mother, but now we are under a continuation and the father is back in the picture fighting because our lawyer gave him opportunity to have more time. I will be seeking out restitution for what we have paid and will also be contacting the Bar association. There is no way this guy has this type of review with the way he handles business. Please wake up and read every review before you hire this person. The state appointed attorney was a much better attorney than Matthew and we are beyond disappointed/frustrated and angry in this matter. Even somehow talked my husband into giving him a good review when he knew how much we were frustrated with him. Of course he did not contact my daughter or myself for that review. We were just gonna sit back and not given any review at all. But after today, if we could do -5, we would do it.

Prior to hiring The Koohanim Law Firm for our Juvenile Dependency case with CPS, I called around and spoke with about 10 other law offices. Not until I actually spoke with Matt Koohanim did I actually make a connection and feel that I had found the right Law Firm for our case. Matt has been very professional and has communicated with me as we go through the complicated process. Matt is very familiar with the courts as well as the judges which I feel has been a plus. Even during his very busy days, he has responded to my text messages knowing how frustrating it can be following all of the CPS and courts directives. His office staff, especially his paralegal Esperanza has also been very helpful with our questions and concerns. I can’t thank Mr. Koohanim enough for the incredible job he did on my CPS case. From the very beginning, Mr. Koohanim and his assistant Kayla were supportive, knowledgeable, and truly cared about my situation. They guided me through every step and answered all my questions.
