We worked with Binh Bui over a number of years to deal with a landlord who conducted unlicensed repairs our building, let moisture collect under our flooring due to powerwashing (which resulted in mold and sickness for us), then stole our security deposit and refused to reimburse us for the time we spent away during mold remediation. Yes it took a long time, but they were honest with us about the courts being backed up and how hard it is to prove and pursue landlord/tenant cases. We didn't think this case was ever going to resolve and when it did we were thrilled. Would 10/10 recommend them - just know that these kinds of cases take a long time.

I'll preface my review like this: The first time I got on the phone and talked to Mr. Bui about my case, I also asked him about the bad reviews on his google and avvo webpage. He told me straight up that they leave all their bad reviews posted as a conscious choice and never delete or fake any reviews. The reason for it being that trust matters to these people, and they'll never pretend to be a perfect law office, since that would be an impossible feat.
Not everyone will have a stellar experience with the office, and that's just a part of doing business. So what you're reading about them is from their actual clients: the good, the bad, and the ugly. I'm gonna use this anonymous account for privacy in my situation, but if you're considering which law office to go with for your tenant case, based on my outcome with the firm, these guys are absolutely legit and worth the risk.

Just a quick rundown of my case: I was dealing with issues at my old apartment ongoing for almost 10 months, before me and my roommate were forced to move out. There was serious infrastructural damage to the walls, windows, and ceiling from a construction crew outside, that made living there a habitability issue. Rain was leaking in through the cracks and pooling on the floors. We had a bedbug and roach issue too that was not getting solved by the landlord. When we contacted Mr. Bui's office, we'd actually been through 2 or 3 lawyers before, and all of them had made us a lot of promises that sounded outlandish or too good to be true. Speaking to Mr. Bui on the phone, he told me they couldn't make any promises or guarantee a specific outcome. I appreciated the transparency from the get-go and it put me more at ease. He also warned me that it could take a long time, even up to 2 years before the case would come to a final decision. We were aware of that going in and prepared for years of delegation. (Just so you know, this is a contingency firm, meaning they don't ask you for anything upfront and only take out a percentage of money if you actually win a settlement.)

We had GOOD luck because it only took us 5 months with the office to hear back from the opposing party that they were willing to settle out of court for a specific amount. We all agreed to the settlement offered, and instead of taking out the 50% on contingency Mr. Bui had originally asked for, the office only took out 40% and let us keep 10% more of the earnings than originally planned.

Everything happened on a much quicker timeline than we thought it would and they were pretty communicative throughout the entire case. While I can't speak for any negative reviewers, I can say from my own experience that I'm definitely glad I went with Mr. Bui instead of another lawyer who gave us a lot of fluff talk to try and convince us to sign on their dotted line. I can't make it clear enough when I say: the outcome of this case changed my life.

Everyone will have their own experience, but please take a chance on this firm if you have a tenant issue with your landlord. You may end up extremely happy that you did!! Less time and money will be wasted on your end, and there could be a potentially life changing result waiting for you.

Worst experience-that turned out, due to ending relationship with Bui and Ilya. My advise is as follows : Go with big firms even if they do not say they they will do contingency -there are exceptions. We paid 400 for initial but it was waived and the other partners all agreed and voted to accept case, the new firm that is. Research everything you are told and question....bad attorney will lie about statutes , and time limits, and say you have a bad case , so take the low offer( just to avoid working it).

UPDATE 4/2025 -After 3 years and abuse by Binh Bui we successfully settled October 2024 before trial, and got what we wanted . Mr Bui said we didn't matter, it wasn't worthy and lied because there were 3 insurance companies and not one . I also received my whole security deposit back after 20 years . Do not move out if you are not in the wrong, and do your own research and stick up for yourself as there are no Perry Mason moments . Learned a lot about shady lawyers through Binh.

I think some of the negative reviews are from people who lost their cases to Binh Bui, so they take revenge by posting negative reviews.

Attorney Bui is excellent. In 5 mins he outlined strategies for me to sue a real estate company in California instead of Nevada. He also cleverly suggested that my daughter file a second lawsuit as she too has a legitimate grievance as well against the real estate company.
I originally had a large law firm advise me. I seek a second opinion and was referred to Mr. Bui ,whose advice was far better and faster that the other lawyers' advice!!

This firm took my case on contingency and let me know from the beginning that it could be a lengthy process. I submitted all my proof and answered all the questions they had and yes they had differnt people call me but I understand the whole team was working the case. There was long period of time I didn't hear from them but soon as the negotiations started they contacted me again and kept me informed along the way. They settled my case in my favor and I'm very grateful.

Please don’t give this law firm your case. You will end up loosing your time. At first they said we had a case but after we signed the retainer, they were not prompt in giving us updates. We had to constantly be asking them. 7 months after they send the letter to the landlord stating they were representing us and then 2 months after that they said they were no longer representing us because we didn’t have a big enough case. That is so odd considering they said this after saying we did have a case. We can’t help but to wonder if they got paid off to stop representing us. This is all sketchy and very unprofessional. They have basically waisted about 9 months where we could have gone to a place that actually had our best interest in mind.

Listen to the negative reviews, we just want to warn people and avoid others going through what we have gone.

This law firm is incompetent and is a waste of your time and energy!
