My wife emailed for help with custody and the remaining finances (distribution of retirement) for a 4 year divorce process in NY - kids, ex wife, court, judge- all in Staten Island! We happen to live in Pa. She's forced to travel to NY - miss work, pay for all expenses and the possibility of loosing her job even with a letter from her employer stating she has to travel for her job! These guys refused to help! She repeatedly explained everything is in NY, we are required to have a NY lawyer, but we happen to only be able to afford Pa.
Case never went to mediation or family court. It went straight to NY Supreme Court!
Organizations are a joke! Everyone claims to fight for LGBTQ people but only if it brings media attention! HRC, NY ACLU, these guys, and others - no one is helping!
