This has to be the WORST law firm in axistance. Megan Woods and her staff were so disconnected, that they droped the ball on our serious injury case. We never met her in person. She did not like to communicate via phone. When somthing we did not understand came up, we had to try and process her emails. She would even get verbally hostile and frustrated at us, and we are her clients. She made us feel like the ones who caused the accident. Her staff and attorney Woods never followed up with all the doctors so there were mis representation along with elevated billing. We were never able to get intouch with her or her staff. We would leave voice mail messages never to get a call back. Then we said we left messages they lied and denied getting any of them. No guidance, no empathy, Ineffective communication. They droped the ball so badly, that this accident case should have compensated us hundreds of thousands of dollars for our pain and suffering. Instead, after all the medical bills were paid and they took thier cut, we barely got any money from all of this. We are lucky we did not have to pay out of our pockets. So now our family is pysically damaged and have fears of driving from PTSD. The case is closed and now our lives will never be the same. Please listen to me, if you are searching for an injury lawyer and you come across CHAPMAN, VARGAS and WOODS run for the hills, cause they will DAMAGE YOU JUST AS MUCH AS THE PERSON THAT WAS IN FAULT OF THE ACCIDENT !!!!!

Over all I didn't have the greatest experience. Initial visit was great, initially I was optimistic. During the process my case was passed down to 3 different attorneys. There was no communication from any of the attorneys. I received little to no information during the process. I was also told that their fee would be 30 percent up until the case was closed (closing date) and it actually came out to be 33 percent. Personally I can't blame the firm as I did sign paper work stating it was 33 percent (obviously the 33 percent was snuck into all the other forms and paper work). Did they do their job? Yes.

I believe this firm would benefit if they were more transparent and communicative throughout the process. A simple follow up email detailing what was discussed with their client would eliminate any confusion amongst all parties. Further a detailed excel sheet detailing offer, potential payout and cost would also be beneficial. I'm not sure what chaos and fxxkery this firm has going on, but to have 3 different attys handling a case and no one has any idea what's going on is extremely disappointing as a client. All and all, i received a settlement (only makes sense, they only get paid if I get paid). I don't expect nor do I want to go through another accident in my life time. Although, if I do, I will hire a firm that's more transparent.

Update: Have received an email from Megan Woods telling me I'm lying and should take down this review because she doesn't want anyone to know how unprofessional she was.
Original: Refused to take my worker's comp case because I wasn't injured enough to make a negligence case worth it in Meghan Woods' eyes.

Megan is an amazing lawyer and she really cares about her clients and making sure she gets the best results in every case I will keep on returning to her for all my legal needs. She is the best and she has an awesome team with her. I recommend her to everyone I know.

If I could give them a 0 star rating I would! When wanting to talk to Attorney Vargas he would have one talk to the receptionists. Michelle gives an ugly attitude when one has a question. Also, translator came late more than once to the hearings and they still charged for her services. Unfortunetly, the case filed was closed but several checks weren't given and I believe they stayed with that aside from their 20% commission. Please be careful and ask questions when you have the doubt. Do not let them fool you!

Attorney Meghan Woods took my workman’s comp case, many months after I’d gotten another Attorney from a firm that is constantly advertising on radio and t.v. and of which I figured had to know what they were doing. It became evident to me that the first Firm and their lawyer were totally ineffectual and grossly mishandling my case after 6 months, to the extent they let an important Deposition languish until the respondent filed for discontinuation- because I had ignored a ‘notice of Deposition’ which was part two of a Deposition which began 2 months earlier. The first firm ignored the notice almost costing me the case by the time I received the notice from Worker’s Comp, with days to spare and all because the first Attorney and Firm did not act! My particular case was an incredibly hard case.
My employer, despite nearly two decades of my being a diligent, dependable hard worker- rewarding me every single year with written ‘top-notch’ reviews and raises- threw me under the bus after forcing me to do a work order that was physically impossible, and despite my admonition that I ‘did not need to get injured!’ The result? I was injured and am now permanently disabled. Over the next two years and 5 months and thats without counting the initial 6 months with the first Attorney & Firm, Attorney Meghan Woods and Firm never gave up on me or my case! She and her Firm expertly out maneuvered the opposition representing my former employer, who I might add appeared to be waiting for my demise- thus making them ‘self-absolved’ financially-of my severe and permanent injury until finally a trial was requested by our side, and after many months a date was set. Well, just a little over a week before trial I received a call from Attorney Woods with a ‘Settlement Offer’.. a sizable 6 figure sum which Attorney Woods spent the next week negotiating and renegotiating to obtain a fair figure for me to consider, and which I accepted. I want to note that I spent countless hours on-line studying every aspect of Worker’s Comp per the State of Connecticut and it became apparent that Law Firm’s and Attorney’s who handle Workman’s Comp cases… are virtually some of the hardest working Attorneys in the Industry! And I discovered that my countless hours of reading, studying and saving everything I could find- on my computer to study further- meant very little as sometimes- ‘nothing is what it seems in Worker’s Comp!’ Don’t try to play Attorney. They know what they’re doing. Attorney Meghan Wood’s and the Firm were incredibly responsive, always patient with all my questions, which I occasionally sent via e-mail and unlike the first Firm, treated me like my case totally mattered and was never ‘put on the back burner!’ Attorney Wood’s has a great personality, is sharp as can be, and most importantly…. While there are no guarantee’s of a case being won or settled, the Attorney/Firm that represents you is the most important aspect in a Worker’s Comp case, especially when they are very serious and complicated cases like mine! Before hiring Attorney Woods and her Firm, I’d met with other Firm’s and Lawyers who told me out right that I had a ‘very tough case’ ( that I believe they didn’t want to take on! ) If there was a 100 Star rating for any reviews, I would give Attorney Woods, Vargas & Chapman & all staff a 100++!
