I am eager and honored to recount my experience with Katrina Eagle ESQ.
My husband, Danny Russ, passed way in May of 2021 from Bile Duct Cancer. Danny had served in Vietnam as a young man. He worked in the air strip where planes, carrying agent orange, took off and landed many times a day. However, Bile Duct Cancer is not listed as a presumptive condition related to agent orange. Yet, it was evident that he had been exposed and it had poisoned his bile ducts and liver.
So, I contacted the veterans administration and filed for survivors benefits. He had only lived three weeks after being diagnosed so there was no time for him to file himself. I was denied the benefits and had one year to appeal. I called 4 (four) veteran administration attorneys, each one declined handling my appeal. Each one said my case had merit, but they just didn’t have time to take it on.
Upon receiving the call of denial from the fourth attorney I had contacted, I now had one month left to appeal. I was hopelessly sitting at my computer when my phone rang. Being it was a unknown number, I almost did not answer. However I did answer to discover on the other end was a representative from the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation ® (the medical term for bile duct cancer). She gave me the name of a person who turned out to be my own private angel. Katrina Eagle. Katrina called me herself after reviewing my case which I had sent to her via the Internet. Not a screener, not paralegal, the actual attorney, Katrina Eagle, called me herself. She told me she had reviewed my case already and she was glad to take it on. This was June of 2022-I was approved for my appeal and received the backpay from when my husband had passed away by October 2022.
Obviously what I’m about to say is what I believe, but cannot proof. That is my case was a comparatively small case so the lawyers fee was not as large as some other cases might be. This is why, I believe, the other attorneys turned me down. Without hesitation Katrina Eagle stepped in and did a fantastic unbelievable job. Katrina is concerned about the vet and his or her family, not how big will her commission be. I will always call her my miracle worker.

Unfortunate that I have to write this review. I first spoke with Katrina while she was in DC accepting an award for helping vets in her community. We discussed in length some denials I received and she told me to wait and contact her again when one of my other 'bigger' denials came back. I reached out several times via email, text, and call after I was approved at a lower rating than I wanted to try and increase that and file new claims. I never heard back. I guess being approved did not leave enough meat on the bone for her to help me fight. That is understandable, but this review is based on being ignored on my follow up.

With the help of the DAV, I tried to get service connection for Asthma with multiple claims. (Burn pit exposure) This went on for 14-years. Nothing but denials. To say I was frustrated was an understatement. Through a friend I heard about Katrina Eagle. Decided to give her a call. From our first talk, I knew Katrina was caring, competent and freaking tenacious! Was an easy decision to have Katrina represent me for my VA disability claim. However, this wasn’t an ordinary claim. After all the denials I was at the last step before a Board of Veteran’s Appeal judge. Katrina expertly presented my case to the Judge and guided me professionally through this nerve racking process. My result was 100% Permanent and Total with SMC. My advice to you is do not delay…call Katrina!

True Heroes fighting for Veterans like me!

I served in United States Air Force from 1970 – 1974. I was stationed at Anderson Air Force Base in Guam from 1971-1973, as fuel specialist. During that time, I was exposed to many different toxic chemicals including Agent Orange. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2011 and then two years later with thyroid cancer, the residual effects dramatically affected not only me but my family. After speaking with a representative for the Missouri Veterans Commission, I submitted a claim for exposure to Agent Orange. That claim was immediately denied. After this denial, the representative suggested I seek legal representation and was given the name of Katrina Eagle, Esq. Veterans Law Attorney. Little did I know then the dedication, tenacity and compassion this woman would show me for the next ten years! Over the course of the last ten years, numerous denials, frustrations and moments of utter disappointment and lack of the energy to continue this fight occurred, however Katrina was always there never wavering in her support and encouragement to not give up the fight. The Board of Veterans Affairs (BVA) denied our claims several times, the cases were then submitted to the US Courts of Appeals not once but twice and both times the Courts sent them back to the BVA for review. Thanks to Katrina and Jim Radogna’s continued support, knowledge and empathy for me, I am now at 100% disability. Never could I have imagined this outcome and will forever be thankful for their continuous support and encouragement to never give up the fight!

It is an absolute privilege to recommend Katrina Eagle. I was stationed at Camp LeJeune in 1973-1974 and I drank and bathed in the contaminated water along with my fellow marines. In 2018 I was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer. I filed a VA claim, and it was denied despite VA having it on their list of Camp LeJeune conditions for which they would provide no cost medical care. Our VA service commission counselor said we had a strong case, should appeal, and recommended that we speak with Katrina Eagle. Upon our first conversation with her we felt at ease and secure in her solid expertise and genuine care. She had a clear plan for how she would gather the information needed as well as the process to pursue the appeal. Amongst the various actions she took was to obtain a medical expert opinion. When we read the experts opinion we nearly wept in gratitude. Katrina knows precisely how to gather the evidence needed and prepare the case. We felt calm during the process knowing she sincerely had our best interests at heart. She succeeded in obtaining a 100% total and permanent disability, which was the absolute righteous outcome. We would not have been successful on our own. We needed someone who has experience with the system and know how to work within the VA system. She would often explain why we needed to approach something a certain way. At every turn she was skilled, knowledgeable, prepared, precise, as well as kind, thoughtful and respectful. You could feel her compassion for our situation and the injustice. Listening to her you are left with no question as to her absolute commitment to veterans. Katrina is the best of the best and a profound blessing in our lives. If you allow Katrina Eagle help to resolve your VA problem, you will thank yourself later. Don

As a Vietnam veteran and having been exposed to Agent Orange in Thailand during my tour in 1972, I developed ischemic heart disease as well as hearing loss associated with being a fighter crew chief, RF-4C aircraft. As per the norm, the V.A. denied my claim on first attempt. I hired Katrina and her firm to take up the fight for me. Katrina found that the V.A. had overlooked numerous documents proving my presence in Vietnam and Thailand and exposure to A.O. was undeniable. The end result was approval of the claim and I avoided months if not years of rejection and ill feelings for the V.A. . I can not recommend Katrina Eagle Veterans Law Firm strongly enough. Thank you !!!

Katrina Eagle was a godsend and answer to my struggles. After constant denials from the military survivor benefits and treating my husband (deceased) like he didn't exist and years of dragging me around wanting more proof of this & that, I finally found someone at the VFW who said they have done all that they could & gave me Katrina Eagle's contact information. I felt the weight of the world lifted off my shoulder after she took my case. She was always available to answer questions & called or text with how things were proceeding. I can't thank her enough for all that she did for me & I'm truly thankful she had my back.
Thank you for everything!

I had requested assistance with my hearing loss. Ms. Eagle suggested writing a letter to the VA. I did and nothing changed. My rating was still downgraded. I called her back, and to my dismay, she dominated the conversation and not very pleasantly. In the end, I did not have enough of a disability rating for her to handle and not worth the fee charged. Thus, my rating remains reduced and now I have another claim for which I will most likely need assistance. It's back to the VSO and fighting the issue on my own. Thanks!
