I hired Lisa in June of 2020 to represent me in a custody case. My child's father had not been in her life physically, emotionally or financially for 2 years, since she was 6 months old. After he failed to show up for court for the first two hearings, it should have been pretty cut and dry. In December we were going into what should have been the final uncontested hearing, I found out Lisa had failed to file several documents and after many attempts I was unable to get into contact with her to prepare for the hearing. It was at this point I decided to hire another attorney, even if it meant all the money I had shelled out for Lisa's representation was a complete waste. After notifying Lisa I was excusing her from my case, she proceeded to contact my daughters father in regards to the upcoming hearing (after she failed to communicate with me) prompting him to suddenly involve himself and dragging my case out another 4 months costing me immeasurable amounts of stress as well as significant financial loss.

I was very lucky to find Amanda Peek to represent me, and would recommend her to anyone with a family court case. She was able to clean up the messes left by Lisa and finalize my case in a way that was very fitting for the circumstances.

Nothing can be done to correct the mess Lisa created in my case, but I hope this helps save some from wasting your money on an attorney like Lisa who does not have the time nor compassion to handle each individual case as it should be.

Lisa and her team are great. Lisa has a way of resolving cases without having to go to trial which is generally the best for the client. If you want a more collaborative attorney, Lisa is the one to ask for.

I highly recommend Lisa. I also am an attorney and have had numerous cases with Lisa on the opposite side. Lisa focuses on the issues and knows which fights to pick. She protects her clients' interests while working toward a settlement that is beneficial to all. Family law is never about who wins, but is about how the case can be resolved so that the parties can move forward with their lives. When Lisa is on a case against me, I know that it will not be an ugly fight, but a continued discussion of what is best for all involved. Lisa is one of the few attorneys who is able to have a real talk with her clients and tell them exactly what to expect, even if they don't want to hear it. I have also used her mediation services and have been more than happy with her work. She ensures that only the parties are the ones to attend/participate in mediation, and she challenges them to consider alternative views and options. If I needed to hire an attorney, I would not hesitate to hire Lisa.

Regarding parenting/custody case issues: I would not recommend Lisa to anyone who hopes to come to a mutual agreement during mediation. First of all, she showed up 30 minutes late for the appointment and didn't even offer an apology. Secondly, as the wife to one of the interested parties, I was excluded from mediation as she said "I don't allow third parties in the room." To which I responded, "oh. I wish I would have been made aware of that so that I did not take half a day off from work. Neither your website nor the letter that you sent out to all three of us stated that." She very rudely and sarcastically shrugged her shoulders at me and said "sorry." I did not find that to be very professional. Also, after the mediation and speaking with my husband, it seems as though Lisa does not understand Colorado school districts, their requirements as well as how to read and interpret teacher effectiveness and growth. This is critical because the mediation was to determine which school and district the child would attend. During the time that I was waiting, I spoke with two previous clients who described Lisa as "very mother-friendly regardless of the best interest of the children." They also mentioned other dislikes such as financial gain but that was not a concern of mine as it did not pertain to my situation.

I highly recommend Lisa Wiebel. She has been nothing but amazing on my case. She has and is helping me deal with a very difficult situation while I fight for my daughter. She has been on top of my case and is always there whenever I need her. I have absolutely no complaints. Susan her assistant is nothing but welcoming and understanding when I call. The environment is so supportive. Lisa has stuck by me from the beginning. You’d be lucky to have someone as hard working as Lisa.

I began my high-conflict divorce/custody case with Lisa and was initially excited to work with her however I was let down time and time again. It took weeks to get a return phone call or email. She ignored multiple requests and she didn’t even show up to one hearing. She’s a sweet person but time management is definitely not her strong suit. In the end I had to retain a different attorney to complete my case.
